Langford showed promise today.

Yep.  Found his feet a bit in that second half, particularly the last Q

Lewis showed something up forward.

Missed the last quarter but it was mainly play on and fumble for the first three quarters. A pleasant change from hugging the boundary line.

Let's see how it develops as the season goes on

I don't get to training so I can't comment but on bigfooty a regular Melbourne supporter who attends said in all the pressure season training he went to, goalkicking practice was completely non existent.

Yes, the player do it on their own spare time after training but from he was saying there is a no structured training in place for this.

If that's the case, then it makes sense that we are a very inaccurate team when shooting for goal

One of the better games I have seen for us from Fullarton. Baldi was our best. TC was great. Bonner was good, but disposal was iffy at times. Handy game from Langford. Mentha didn’t get much of it but I liked what I saw when he did.

Goal kicking was terrible. Lots of very straightforward shots.

Yes. But he needs to take more care. Highly skilled but last qtr had 3 turnovers and a useless hand pass that put Sestan in a tackle. Was the right choice - just terrible execution. He was there to get the loose ball though.
Overall the whole team had too many turnovers but if they kicked straight at the start they wouldn’t have had any pressure.

Casey showed some grit in the last. Campbell, Baldi, Craven and Langford flying the flag in the last stanza.

Somebody put their hand up for Specialist Goal Kicking Coach?

oh yeah Picket!!!

Baldi kept us in it.
TC got a lot of the ball but so many turnovers.
And what was he thinking when taking the boundary kick in?? Bonner, Sestan, Adams, Hore and others were all there.

Missed the last quarter so little said by me on the players, but I’m a big fan of the English fella doing the commentary. Knows the players, and adds extra tidbits when he sees appropriate lulls. His off sider who was doing special comments, awful. Added very little of value and brought any banter to a virtual standstill, which speaks to the the others guys skill being able to overcome the handicap. Glad he does a lot of Casey matches, hope he gets some help soon though.

Goalkicking practice this week.   Mandatory!!

Both squads.

Anyone tell me why Bailey Laurie is still on the list.  I know we have to give youngsters chances to shine but he’s had chances & is going backwards.  I saw him in the under 18s and he had a yard of pace, was smart and could hit a target in left or right foot.  Seriously has not developed at all and I couldn’t see why we extended his contract.  Given what he shows, this has to be his last year.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
