JVR or Jefferson done much ?

JVR (blue) was not oustanding but competing hard IMO.  Rewarded himself with a goal from 15m while being tackled after a contest and collect.  Jeffo (white) and AJ (white) really didnt see much of it while I was there.  White held up for the first 10-15 minutes but the last i saw they were down 14 to 60 odd (? really wasnt paying the score much attention) late in the third.

McAdam possibly ahead of Jeffo for a round 1 spot by the sounds?

That’s a Picket Fence nightmare right there.

Would say so. I’d probably have AJ ahead of Jeffo too, though note that neither AJ nor Jeffo swapped onto the ‘A’ side during the last quarter.

Apparently injured?

Yes, McAdam injured his leg and took no further part in the match.

Rivers played on-ball all game.  He didn't play in defence.

Bowey played defence all game, despite his goal.

If I get time I'll add some more thoughts.

Was he helped off or walk unaided? (sorry, too soon?)

There's footage of him being carried off by 2 trainers on 'myheartbeatstrue' instagram page, he wasn't putting any weight through the left leg

The real question is did he walk off himself or was he carried off by the trainers?

Joking joking, in all seriousness I hope he’s okay, poor bugger just can’t seem to get a run at it

Roy George here we come. Seriously I hope McAdam hasn’t done anything beyond a minor sprain and will be back on track in a week or two. Fingers crossed.

I reckon they'll go with Jai Culley if the opportunity arises, he's been very impressive from what I've seen.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
