Knuckles just limped off, doesn’t look good

edit: he’s bearing weight now. Walking freely. They’re taking him for scans

Laurie just kneed Chandler in a marking contest after too much hang time from Fullarton kick

I have Laurie down as the smokie that will surprise many this year. Uses the ball well, has some evasive skills and is getting more comfortable at this level.

It's been a long time coming but its now or never for him.

Great contested work by AMW but sore shoulder after it. Max puts the heat on Langford and comes out the winner. Adams redeemed with good intercepts and well placed long kicks.

Shane-o is done for the day. No he’s not injured, he’s “crook in the guts” and before anyone pipes up, he was legitimately unwell, I saw him throwing up at the boundary.

Same difference not fit enough too much goes wrong How could you be certain of selecting him for a GF on Thursday and he be crook sick injured or any other malaise that is around to keep him pout if playing?

Seriously he should go round in a bubble. Get him to go in I am a celebrity get me out of here and do all the eating weird trials to acclimatise to real life.

OR

Survivor for toughening up his body and attitude.

Over to you Ghostwriter what excuse have you got this time?

Bucket list item ticked off today.  First training attendance.  Very excited!

If you don't write a 10 page report with individual dossiers of players performance, highlights of the day, goodys gameplan and an up-to-date injury list... did you even really go to training?

Put our best players in a yellow cap and be done with it. We’re not supposed to use their limbs to knock the house down

The return from the Christmas break has been carnage.

It seems that way for all the clubs, and based on reports, we've come through reasonably unscathed (by comparison). I wonder if the AFLPA will be convinced to reduce the xmas break from 3 weeks down to 2 weeks or 10 days. Ultimately, it will benefit the players as it will likely reduce soft tissue injuries.

I attended some of the training session this morning. Looked like they were practising some drills about near the end of games. Trac looks very good, and not far away from joining main training. Spargo is getting closer to doing more training. Judd McVee was helped off the ground with a leg injury. Hopefully scans find no serious damage.

The mood is sky-high! The energy is electric. It’s such a great place to be this morning, more so than usual. I can even hear a couple of the boys singing along with the music in the tent. In case anyone is wondering, the song is called “Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom” by Venga Boys (I had to Shazam it).

Year 6 disco banger, or maybe that should be boomer?

Vines is at a wedding. Salo isn’t well but it’s nothing serious…. another crook in the guts by the sound of it.

He wasn’t “carted” off the field. He limped off. Jacob our club doctor said it’s not as bad as it looked anyways.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
