Our haste in resigning Marty Hore was ridiculously breathtaking. More haste less speed ( ie less Hore)

We didn’t need another HBF like Hore more likely a mid like Culley or Boy ( Roy) George as a HFF/mid.

Does the Kolt injury not open up a spot?

He could be playing by round 6 so I doubt it, I’d be putting Kentfield on that list for George or Culley

I've been to several of the pre-season training mornings at Gosch's and I come away thankful that we have Hore as a backup. There are days when I have him in the side. He is better now than he was first time round. He is a professional in everything he does. He makes it difficult for many of our forwards with a full set of defensive skills. He can play on talls or smalls. Don't write him off. I won't be surprised if he gets games in 2025. He is legitimate depth. Every successful team needs them.

Marty is in seriously good shape this year as well. He looks exceptionally lean and is moving very well. Makes the occasional brain fade on game day but he is great depth.

marty hore can play a role for us if required

very happy to have him on the list

if a spot becomes open by feb 19, it would seem culley is more likely than george at this point, judging from track watcher's reports?

i also assume that ralph has combined george and mentha into the same player because he is, quite frankly, not a great judge of players

He look unbelievably fit doesn't he.

He's in the mix with tmac and Howes for a defensive position i reckon.

I’d be happy with Culley.

Club needs to bite the bullet and put BOTH Kentfield And Tholstrup on Long Term list, therefore opening up spots for Mentha and Culley!

Do you mean Roy George and not Mentha?

They won’t put Kolt on it as they will be hoping to get him back around mid season

& Howe’s looks ready. Been impressed with the vision I’ve seen of him so far this pre season.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
