Yes, why haven’t these kids heard of Bon Scott??!!

TBH my fav song of theirs isn't Bon Scott either...

Probably just what they heard this morning.
So many ways for them to find and hear music these days…

I better stop before I sound too old.

Sure is, but I still buy vinyl so... I am old. :P

All I can say is there will need to be an apology book available for many D/Landers and Demon fans to sign after Jeffo is selected and played for a year or two.

Great to see his physical development along with his mental resolve plus ability over the journey.

His career may well be the perfect way for a recruit to approach AFL adaptation.

Lets hope he can fulfil his promise in spades.

I'll be happy to purchase the book, will a thousand pages be enough??😎

This is Demonland and MFC supporters, they will have a new whipping boy to sneer at, my money is on either McAdam or Fullarton if they don't make the AFL team by mid season.

McAdam is already mine

In this respect we are no different to some "supporters" of every other club.

It's not just a Demonland / MFC thing.

Spargo - heard that they are being cautious with his return but doesn't look like it will be before Christmas but that is just a guess. Didn't do anything other than stationary warmup stuff with the footy. Not running at the moment.

Was running the boundary on Wednesday

More likely I got the day wrong - Monday...

Put it down to post draft hysteria

Impressed to see you have put supporters in quotation marks, agree, but anecdotally MFC are some of the worse, you only have to look at the Insta feed after a loss.

I was actually disappointed myself with McAdam's season and the fact he is not at training at the moment, but there may be reasons we are not across, but I leave the decisions on a players future to the Footy Dept itself, although that being said every man and his dog knew Josh Schache was done.

Please don’t say it’s a song featuring Brian Johnson. I know I’ve probably mentioned this before, so at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I walked out on a free Canberra Day concert in the early 1970’s feeling ripped off, mid way through a performance by the band Geordie, of which he was the frontman (I won’t do him the honour of referring to him as their singer 😉). For mine, the only person who should ever have been considered as Bon’s replacement, was Alex Harvey!! (sadly, he too passed just a year after Bon).

It is, I love Shoot to Thrill. But in fairness I was about 5 when I first heard AC/DC in the early 80s so I heard Brian before Bon.

Not Vambo surely🤣.................there was nothing wrong with Geordie a good set of ear plugs wouldn't fix.

My choice would have been Sammy Hagar.

Saw him a few times with the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, and he had the voice (almost identical to Bon) and the attitude and swagger (and a Scotsman to boot). One of the best front men I’ve ever seen.

He would have been bored within a couple of songs, would have made for some interesting interaction though, if you are interested and want to track it down the Alex Harvey Soul Band is an interesting listen.

Yes, I have the album(s?)…he also had a very folksy album out before that… his Donovan period perhaps?

I’m hoping to get down there with my son when they resume training next year… but QANTAS are making it hard with their changes to the frequent flyer program. Even looking ahead to January or February next year, if we want to use classic rewards points, the only flights from Sydney to Melbourne require us to go via either Adelaide or Launceston!! This ends up costing us 50% more in points. Grrrrrrrrrr!!

I would think so, yes. Great opportunity to meet the new teammates.

Good chance they (new draftees) will also be down at Gosch's tomorrow.

I wonder if TMac slides forward again?

If all going well, I think he plays 2’s more often thus year.  Petts back and hopefully Jeffo takes his spot up forward

Reckon they are a good chance. Probably won't train but will likely be trackside to soak it in.

In previous years the new draftees have joined in right after the draft.

If you love footy and running after that ball, tough to sit on the side. Though, I understand if they give them time to observe some of the drills, set-ups, and routines.

Did they train the day this photo was taken? It was right after the draft last year.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
