*sigh*

Sadly, entirely true.

But we have 2 of the top 5 best contested players in the comp in the same midfield, just need the outside polish to finish off the good work.

Crazy debut result.

Ranked equal 13th alongside Coniglio and 7th in our 22, just behind Claz.

What stood out most of all with Xavier was his vision and ultra quick release.  Amazing for a first gamer

And that's not the sort of thing you do and then not do.  We've got a lot to look forward to with this lad

Windsor and this bloke off half back will pay big dividends after they have played 50 games together.

Your 50 games late it’s now they start to pay dividends more to come but both won’t be hb flankers all their careers.

Having so many fwds ranked as they are in Chandler, Roo, Fritta and Jeffo not great. Well I give Jeffo more points and he scored twice as many goals as the other three combined.

Windsor is just so polished. A delight to watch. And cool under pressure.

No matter where he gets the ball, it's like he's seeing things slow like that scene in the Matrix.

About time we took a gippsland lad

I was kind of hoping we took the gippsland trio of tauru, Lindsay and mentha , 2 out of three ain't bad

We should try and get our hands on more gippsland players like C serong, B humphries , Z duursma, T Papley, J Newcomb

Lindsay looks like a great pick up and I’m feeling good about my sneaky wager I e got on him for the Rising Star award

But let’s just stick to best available rather than focusing on Gippsland only 😀

I know the discussion around trading our first pick to the Bombers will come up, but even if it is a high pick I’m still comfortable with it. I genuinely believe he’s been the best performed draftee so far the first two rounds. He’s a gun player and probably could’ve been a top 5 pick in a normal draft year.

And if Kalani White is any good, we'll get him for a second rounder...

That’s why he should play in the CENTRE While he won’t solve ALL the problems his pace and kicking and skills will help the connectivity with the forward line,

I was sold on him very early in the game after he'd put on 2 very clever shepherds to clear a path for a teammate. How many others do we have with those smarts?

The rest of his game was a bonus, an enormous bonus.

I agree , maybe he could teach a few of his teamates because it seems to me like they are not doing enough to protect the ball carrier.

It’s a testament to him that he looked our most composed and skilful player on the weekend while also having the highest pressure rating

Unfortunately it’s also equally as damning that our 10+ year veterans don’t seem to have the skill and polish of a two gamer

Anyway, he’s going to be an absolute gun for us, so who cares that the Bombers have our first round pick!

agreed he does look a top 5 pick. Classy but Ive also been surprised by his toughness in the clinches. ultra competitive when the ball is in dispute.

It's actually embarrassing to some of our senior players that he looks one of the most composed on the ground for us at the moment...

Tx 58er. Although do you think he is strong enough and has the right body type to succeed as a classic in and under ball getter?

I see him more as a wing type player.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
