Agree 100% - Fullarton's recruiting is an enigma.   Tarin Au-Mu sounds a genuine prospect as a forward / ruck but if drafted would expect to take at least a couple of years to get ready for a run.

I think that u overlook the crop of new payers we introduced this year. My rating is

Windsor 200 games plus

Tholstrup 200 plus

AMW and Howes 100 plus

I also think that Laurie will become a good player if he can get time as a mid, rather than a HFF

and I think u might be underestimating the likes of JVR , McVee ( a star already) and Turner all of whom I expect to play 20 games next year . And I think the caution shown towards Jefferson may well pay off .

we DO need a second ruckman. I just donโ€™t889 understand the Fullarton position

Fullerton! You are not alone. He is not a youngster, played quite a few games at the lions. Comes to us, we lose forwards to injury. That would seem to be the situation we recruited him for. But spends the season at Casey with a number of good games. Why on earth is he on the list

As for JVR, Mcvee and Turner

All three are serviceable players but not world beaters. If we don't get a good KBF and a good mid we won't play finals in 2025

Really OD you are not giving McVee and JVR enough chance of improving further as 20/21 yoโ€™s.
And Turner if played down back wouldโ€™be a regular AFL player by now. Being a forward is taking a lot longer but he has shown that he has plenty of skills that could make him successful if given time.

Apparently you expect unrealistically 21 yo to be ready made. All of this is perplexing on your rating of Judd McVee who has not put a foot wrong in two seasons and is very much an AFL flanker.
Rooy is very solid and needs a far better Coach than Stafford.

Letโ€™s wait and see in  2025 as Our youngsters could improve dramatically.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder mono. They are not players you build a team around. They are the also players.

I hope you are right. They are average senior players IMO. They are ones you have around very good players.

I hope to see starting at this draft heavy investment in our midfield.

I hope to see a huge commitment to the offensive side of our game. Should be our number 1 priority this off season.

i hope to see or hear something concrete about a training base.

I'd love Tom Sparrow to work on his agility and become a really strong midfielder who can hurt oppositions when resting forward.

Would have most likely happened by now.

I thought he was Tracca 2.0

But he's been around for a while now and as much as he tackles he constantly averages 14 touches a game.

Prior to this finals series I would have agreed with you, but players of a similar age at both the Hawks and the Cats are advancing at a more rapid rate. We are lagging behind in our player development. Bedford and Jordan are testament to that. Sparrow going backwards.

He is average most weeks. Good last 6 players picked a replacement for Gus he isn't.

I think you're probably right. But if there's any chance of even moderate success next year, we need someone like Sparrow or at least one other 21 to 25 year old to improve significantly.

Even Petracca and Oliver back at their absolute best doesn't guarantee much, I don't think.

The Hawks Cats give opportunities to YOUNG Players look at  Goodwin took ages  to play Monez Wakefield and then selected him kicking and screaming his  reference to Fullarton was quite Rude these are only 2 of several incidents .

My suggestion is we get Adam Simpson as an assistant coach he is a man of quality tell Goodwin to heed his advice or else.

The current review will find that  Goodwins people skills and listening to advice is sadly lacking he has a closed mind but if he is confronted and told you are on your last chance we might see some success

That's the million dollar question.

Preferably someone with millions of dollars who can help get the new facility off the ground.

Rubbish that would make  real difference with Clarry back to his best. We donโ€™t know how well Christian might return yet but hereโ€™s hoping.
The biggest improvement should come from JVR Turner AMW McVee Windsor Chandler Petty Howes Jefferson Pup and hopefully Adams, Verrall.

I believe both Kossie and Fritta can go to another level if some extra work was put into their training and skills and game plans. Both can raise their goals by 10/15 goals per season.

Part of this is due to our contest/defence game plan that puts a damper on aggression and skills of our young players. Thatโ€™s  why Goody surely is on his last legs with his game plan and our development plan from our Coaches which has stalled it seems.

Whatever game plan you have you need 7-8 very good players at the top end of talent. We no longer have that number. IMO the players you have mentioned in the past have to go from useful to very good I don't see that talent in them.

This is just factually false. Goodwin rewards young players, the list is too long to name. Development of young players has been excellent the last 5 years.

Bowey, Rivers, McVee, Turner, Kozzi, Howes, Sparrow, Tholstrup, JVR, Windsor, etc, etc

I watched the GF and the 2021 round 22 win against the Cats and aside from it being awesome the main thing I noticed was Clayton Oliver.

Absolute domination around the ball and kicking goals. I had almost forgotten how freakish he is. Hard to bring it down to one bloke but if he can get his form back - anything is possible. He is the greatest player I have seen play for us

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckmanโ€™s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipperโ€™s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0โ€“5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
