Jared Rivers out for the season?

Do you think he'll never get over his OP?

Is it really that bad, despite him playing the entire 2005 season and finishing top 5 in our B&F?

Sorry to quote myself, but just found this article in the Herald Sun:

Extra load buries Moloney

A lot of fluff about bouncing back and all that, but also...

-Melbourne aimed to ease Moloney back this season, slowly increasing his workload. But the dire shortage of players during games forced him to push on.

-Yze had scans this week to check for osteitis pubis, but it's believed the results were not season-threatening.

"It's more hip-flexor and groin at the moment. We just want to monitor that and make sure it doesn't become a fully osteo case," Daniher said.

No word about Rivers. Maybe the Ch.10 reported confused Rivers with Yze?

Moloney is so valuable and we missed his long kicking a drive out of the middle last year. We need him and Brock and Jonesy in there as there are all so rugged and hard working- Bruce and Johno with the class and Junior is the little dynamo. Bmer got 3 clearances in a row against Geelong this season and that game was a good example of his style. We need him back

Not at all Jaded. Sorry for my 'absolute' statement. I just see Moloney as the most mismanaged of our OP boys, and I see his road back to be the longest.

i agree finks. i think he needs be be sat out for 8-12 months absolutely nothing. then he shouls resume closer to the start of next season and aim for a return through sandy, half a game round 1 perhaps. he is too valuble a player to have on and off the park. if we ever get brock moloney sylvia and jones up and running we will have a very hard midfield winning a lot of ball, getting a lot of clearances. if that happens while we have travis, bruce and green on the outside feeding to neitz and robo we are definetly a chance to finish highly.

to think that of our 4 hardest inside midfielders jones (10-odd games) is the only one who has played most of this year and and even he was injured at a time.

Don't write off Moloney - I don't believe he's 'damaged goods'.

Also, how do you get those fancy quote things to work?

Heya,

You can hit the reply button and it then automatically puts the quote 'tags' around the text. You can then edit that down to simply include the bits that are relevant to what you're saying :)

You can also do it manually -
text here
That appears like this:

text here

When you hit the reply button it automatically adds the name and date etc, but you can simply do the following:
text here
text here

or...
text here
text here

Sorry for this off-topic post, but I hope that helps you and maybe some other people too :)

No one is looking for a scapegoat

Just look at his recent history at Hawthorn.........and now with us

He is probably a really nice guy

IMHO We need to cast the net as wide as possible and try and recruit someone who has the runs on the board at AFL level

Thoughts?

Honestly, stop clutching at straws. I suppose the guy at St. Kilda is BB "s students as well. Unfortunatley we haven't got the stars of a West Coast, Sydney etc so everyone on our list or on the park has to be performing at their optimum, and as one unit. When we get a few injuries or loss of form, we are going to fall away. I think our coaching/ training staff do the best with what they have, and blaming one guy for our misfortune is simplistic.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton

The Demons were blown out of the water in the first quarter and clawed their way back into the contest but it was a case of too little too late as they lost another close one to Carlton losing by 1 point at the MCG.
