• Petracca, Oliver, May and Windsor out.

*Miller back for GC to further strengthen a potent midfield.

•South East Queensland’s hottest day forecasted in 4 months.

* MFC’s public relations at its lowest ebb since Norm Smith and the MFC had a minor disagreement.

*MFC’s first dead rubber since round 23 2019.

Aside from the above, I’m pretty bullish about today.

First dead rubber in 5 years. Have to say it’s been the best 5 years in my time as a Demons supporter

Usually after round 6 it was all dead rubbers and cheering if we won a quarter

Work day today but I'll be listening in on the radio while I go about my rounds. I might even watch a replay tonight if we put on a good show.

You a jailer @Demon4Life?

Will miss the first half most likely, seeing a few open for inspections. Hope we put up a fight though, Go Dees.

Are you a gyno @layzie?

I was going to take my eldest 9yo to his first dees game and try and get a photo with Nibbler afterwards after he rang the eldest on a junior ring around.

Unfortunately in Syd at brother in laws .

was ambivalent about missing but woke up in northern rivers this morning to an absolutely cracking day, so now a bit cross we’re not going especially as it was the last chance to see Nibbler.

go dees!

How many 9yos do you have?!?

Dermie saw us in the rooms and reckons it was focused and intense and angry even.

GC all smiles and high fives

Lets see what happens

Dont really care who wins but some pride in the jumper and going in hard would be great to see

This game feels like a practice match. Intensity is non-existent from both sides.

Gee Billings was poor then

Can someone explain why all the commentators say Tollstrup not Tholstrup. Have I been saying it wrong? 😂

Yikes! This is a family forum QD! 🤪

Salem playing well

That’s about it

We are a shell of a football team at the moment. Truly pathetic by foot, zero composure. I’m sorry but Goodwin looks to have lost them. At the moment, we are looking like the bad Melbourne of old.

Rudderless. Big change is needed. There is no pride in this jumper from those who wear it.

It is crazy how far we have regressed. Haven't seen us like this for many years.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
