This is the Tom Morris who was kicked out of the AFL & associated gigs for his incredibly sexist and inappropriate comments regarding women. He was rightly reviled & criticised. He gets another chance and reverts straight back to his muck raking reporting and we now have 14 odd pages on an article he wrote.  If someone can post something he has got right ..then please let me know. Same for Cornes…Kozzy was gone to Port..Petty to Adelaide…I guess if they throw enough wild theories out there…they might just get lucky ..?

As long as the club stays firm in any trade negotiations then I don't think this would be the worst thing for us. He chose the sign a long lucrative contract with us...so if he doesn't want to see it through and wants to choose where he goes then it should be made clear to him and them that we will facilitate only if we are adequately compensated.

Ultimately this group of senior/'star' players have been pretty poor against the top teams since 2021. They just haven't been able to deliver under pressure. The club may need to be bold and look at how we can build the next wave and have a crack when they have games behind them in 5 or 6 years. Our current group has proven they can't get it done in the real pressure cooker of big MCG games.

Without having any real details, it did make me laugh the other day when I read that some players perhaps aren't happy with the direction of the club, particularly the failure to make finals this year. Are they for real? They would have played in at least a preliminary last year if they didn't produce some of the biggest choking in AFL history. The 4 finals over the last 2 years have been lost on the grass and nowhere else. What else could the club or the supporters have done for them? It's been up to these highly rated players and they've failed big time.

Then where was the criticism for playing DeGoey who was clearly injured… they got the win for Pendles 400 & DeGoey gets a 3 month injury. Or Carlton playing Curnow who has been struggling with an ankle…reinjures it again &  now could miss the rest of the season.

Melbourne will not trade Christian Petracca under any circumstance with Demons powerbrokers on Monday night emphatic that suggestions he could play elsewhere in 2025 were wildly inaccurate.

Petracca, 28, attended Saturday night’s match against Port Adelaide at the MCG as he recovers from a lacerated spleen and was walking laps of the tan in the hours before that clash.

The 2021 Norm Smith Medallist is still not allowed to get his heart rate above 110 and the family was disgruntled with his medical treatment following internal injuries sustained in the King’s Birthday blockbuster against Collingwood, where he was allowed to return to the field.

A major part of the Petraccas’ frustration was the isolation. In the first 10 days following the injury he had not seen anyone other than his parents and his fiancee.

But senior club sources were at pains to stress that Petracca was not going anywhere despite reports he was disillusioned with the club’s direction.

While Petracca was disgruntled, it is understood there is no bad blood that would result in the four-time All-Australian demanding an exit.

Petracca is contracted until 2029 on a $1 million per season deal and remains critical to the club’s hopes of rebounding up the ladder in 2025.

The Demons are confident they will remain in premiership contention and have rejuvenated their playing list this season.

The club has handed five players their AFL debut – behind only Richmond, North Melbourne and Collingwood (all six) – and have repeatedly fielded one of the youngest line-ups in the AFL.

New players Blake Howes, Caleb Windsor, Koltyn Tholstrup, Kynan Brown and Andy Moniz-Wakefield have all displayed encouraging signs.

Petracca’s injury also opened the door for Trent Rivers to shine as an onballer while Judd McVee has also had brief stints in the midfield where he has shown similar promise.

And many on here continually have their head in the sand and don't want to hear a bad word about the club, ever. Period. If that is the kind of support and 'sticking fat' you're talking about, we may as well shut up shop. I make those remarks because I find it hilarious that despite all of the evidence, the cheers-squad type supporters just refuse to bat an eyelid, either calling it all BS or saying it's actually Trac that's the problem! Or not only that, it's about anything but what's going on behind closed doors. 'injury, loading, stats stats stats backing up the theory that we're injured, we're loading'. Rinse and repeat. 

People just don't want to dig deep enough or hear anything that might pop their lala land bubble. Why? Because it feels uncomfortable and 'negative'. Again I think that says more about them then anything else. 

Obviously we all want the club to succeed. Those of us who have seen some worrying signs now have wondered if there are some things going on behind the scenes and it turns out that we're correct. 

And now the cheer-squad parade are worried that it'll ruin demonland when they should actually be feeling positive about the outcomes/changes that might come from this admission! So you can have both! Accept and understand that not everything is just peaches and roses, but know that out of this will come new growth, opportunity, change and good times again!

My friend is an emergency specialist at a large hospital. She occasionally talks to me about difficult night shifts. The ones were the motorcyclist has come off on a wet night and gone head long into the bus coming the other way. "Not ideal". Two unhappy superstars and the other two with walking-frames . . . not ideal.

Yeah the word i heard was the family were panicking thinking his life was in danger with emergency blood transfusions and the club were busy posting that he would be back playing in 6-8 weeks. 

The priorities were way off.

Which no one is denying.

You think after the way they refused to let Petty go when he literally got on national TV whilst playing golf with a few Crows player stating that eventually he does want to come home, to then trade Trac?

Even if trac came out and said he wants to be traded the club would refuse to do so.

That doesn't stop the fact that the issues that is still lingering between club and Petracca which will need to be smoothed over.
