Get a hold of yourselves DLanders. You should know how the media works by now… Petracca is a future captain of this club, who has a lucrative contract. This is the short summary of what Morris has to say on the issue… “Petracca would leave the club tomorrow if he wanted to”. Get a grip, don’t be on the Media drip!

How do you figure that all 3 of these CONTRACTED players will not be with us in 2025?

Did Viney look like someone who wants out on Saturday night?

Um his dad is connected to Norf..... GO FIGURE!

No one is happy with the direction of the club at the moment - difference is Petracca can actually change it. Would be the absolute most cowardly choice from him to nick off now.

EDIT: I should add that I don't see him as a coward, and therefore he won't leave.

And his dad was also connected to Hawks. Go figure.

Kate Roffey ......... Get out there with Trac and put this to bed.

He has 6 years left to run on his contract. He won't be leaving.

Nothing wrong with a shot across the bow from Trac. Make sure the club take his and the playing groups concerns onboard.

I'm sure there will be a robust and thorough review performed in the off season. clear the air and get everyone focussed again. make the necessary changes. There's been too much noise around the club this season.

Not if you were peeezed of with the way the club has handled certain issues, including his own! But

I searched in vain in Morris's words for any reference to a source...

Just holistically, it's really difficult for me to see a way that Petracca could leave the Dees because of frustration due to the clubs direction and Simon Goodwin remain the head coach, the teams direction and spirit and the happiness of all players, but especially the star players is directly his responsibility.

Petracca watches us play live once and wants out...

Now he knows how us supporters feel.

Petracca would have enough sway to get the coach sacked if he was that upset. The only reason he'd leave is to chase a quick and easy flag elsewhere - like I say, I don't see it happening.

I'd be devastated if trac left.

I thought the days of our good players walking out because we were terrible were well behind us.

I'd say our president and coach have some work to do to rebuild relationships.

Even if we were playing finals trac wouldn't have been part of it anyway.

He’s 29 before next season, let’s get what we can.

He would have enough sway to do that for sure. But Morris says he’s not unhappy with Goodwin, so it’s hard to know what info Morris is reporting truthfully and what he is making up.

Trac is the ultimate professional, he is a top 5 player in the league and clearly loves our club and just wants to win.

He clearly sees that he has 3 or 4 more elite years left before the decline so he needs to win now.

The [censored] show Tim Lamb and co has served up since the flag is beyond a joke. We have gone so far backwards picking up list cloggers left and right (I won’t name any in case they read this and get upset)

Then there is the indiscretions of his high profile team mates leading to horrible press, internal meetings and restlessness and let’s not forget a [censored] pre season wasting yet another year.

Trac would know a trade would be basically impossible, we would demand 2 top 10 picks plus and no contending club will be able to provide that. Perhaps this is exactly what the club needs, the ultimatum to fix the mess and actually put the foot down, clear out the trouble makers, cash in on some elite young talent, bring in some QUALITY senior players and reload and go again.

I hope to god this offseason is a blood bath, ala Collingwood 2021 change needs to happen.

Petracca is the best we can get for Petracca. Nothing will come close to that, and any young kid we pick up is going to wither on the vine if we repeat the same mistakes we made from 2009-2013.

I'm not concerned about him leaving, just the unwanted negative attention this club has seemingly mastered.

It's just the club's role in the AFL at the moment. There is nothing that can be done to change the way certain clubs are reported on. Essendon has the baggage of the "saga" and it's been 10 years since it happened. The media will report on what the media will report on. No mature club or its players should be affected by that.

Surprise, surprise… no mention of Petracca in the Ch 9 Sports Bulletin. Yet they succeed! Look at how our DLanders have taken the (click)bait! Where is your dignity?

Trac has always struck me as the type who has looked for an excuse to leave

Except for when he signed a 7 year deal? 🙄

Demonland is peaking

Hey folks.

Back off on the criticism of Christian.  He bleeds red and blue.  This year, he along with our captain carried this club on his shoulders, week after week, until a near death injury.

fwiw I don't think he will leave.  I get people are disappointed in 2024 but don't take the frustrations out on Christian.  He certainly does not deserve all the shiiit posters are writing in this thread.  Many are 🤮worthy.

Some respect please.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
