Really want that pick 6 from the suns to get Robey. If we can turn Trac into Robey and Flanders then happy days!

It's starting to seem like he'll end up at Richmond with pick #3 or #4.

That Reading the Play website I've posted power rankings from have their phantom draft coming out tomorrow I think - will be curious to see where some of these names fall.

Unfortunately live pick 6 may be too late to get Robey (given the Academy and father son picks)

Say that MFC got 6 and Flanders for a trade deal with Suns to get Petracca and 23.

Robey. Lindsay. Grlj. They would be the targets. Skilled players. That’s the need!!

Phantom draft dropped this morning - has us taking Liam Hetherton??

https://readingtheplay.wordpress.com/2025/10/01/2025-afl-phantom-draft-version-1-0/

good write ups and explanations on the clubs choices and why he's taken them where he has,

not sure if you missed it or not but he actually has us making the Zac McCarthy bid from the filth first and then falling back onto hertherton, i think id rather pickett then and curtin or hetherton (they think he'll slide given injury affected year) later and then at the end of the draft have a look at Voss or McFadyen as mature age rookies

stating the obvious, no point looking at the draftees for our picks yet really as we don't know what we'll have come the actual Draft. we could have two top 10s, or we could just end up with kalani and a few late speculators?..

You're right, its really just a power rankings matched to clubs at this time of year isn't it?

You'd have to think they'll do a version 2 post trade period. Maybe they were trying to put an early flag in the ground with how busy trade and draft news can get?

They don't trouble themselves saying how he'd fit our needs.

@Whispering_Jack wheres that from ? Shows there’s still reasonable amount of good young players in the pool. Obviously no phantom draft is worthwhile until after trades have been closed out.

It's the work of a poster Haggas on the bigfooty Trade and Draft Forum - 2025 AFL Draft General Discussion at page 82.

So if we get the Suns pick 6 which becomes 7 with Eagles compo, take out all the academy and f/s.

Duursma, CDT, Robey gone IMO.

Sharp probably gone.

We’re looking at a pool (with 2 more already gone) with the likes of Xavier Taylor, Schubert, Grlj, Marsh, Cumming.

It’s probably pick 10/11 by the time it gets used and that’s about what you get in that range most years, a risk/reward roll of the dice on talent. Useful but far from our priority!

Riley Onley. A Bushies boy. Any info on him?

Apologies if previously asked

Shepparton United lad.

Big tall midfielder who wins clearences and stoppages. Great kid who's incredibly driven to make it to the big time.

Does his best work inside and has good clean hands once he wins the ground ball and get its pn the outside.

Dees might get back into this first round. Priority target Sam Grlj!!! Suits the future direction and he’s a serious talent

@adonski thanks. Yes if we can get a top “6” live pick, then it’s definitely time then to look at players like

Josh Lindsay. half back elite disposal

Samuel Grlj. midfield runner with very good disposal

Sullivan Robey. impact mid with skills and can go forward and kick goals

All Victorian lads. I’m now very nervous about the WA and SA lads but that’s just because of recent Jackson, ANB and McVee events !!

Very similar to Butters with the cat like changes of direction and creative disposals.

He looked a bit more rushed and sloppy in his disposal in the other footage of him but this video he looks excellent, fantastic movement

Sturt win SANFL under 18 premiership

Jett Dahlitz had 37 possessions as a rebounding defender. 14 marks. Showed his talent in SA under 18 at national championships and has been excellent back at club level. Has that energy like Trent Rivers but with much better kicking skills. At 187cms, has a good size too. Would fit in as a Bailey Dale type defender who can rebound and distribute

Sturt win 2025 SANFL U18 Premiership - SANFL

@DeeSpencer whilst he’s from SA, there is something about Dahlitz that screams AFL quality. He’s got good marking judgement, excellent kick and has a little bit of the Trent Rivers energy. Interested to see if he’s in our sights this year as an early 2nd round pick if we have one. He’s exactly the transition type player to suit our future plans.

He moves like Finn O'Sullivan. I wasn't really a fan last year - I might like Grlj more.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
