Fullarton was clearly recruited as a ruck-forward as evidenced above. Unless you can show something to the contrary, apart from opinion, that he was recruited as a primary ruckman?

Didn't say he was a primary ruck but definitely as back up for Gawn. Evidence is in the wording 'Ruck Forward'. Primarily,  as opposed to primary, a ruck is his intended role. He has been beaten by most VFL rucks this season.

nope, he was recruited as a forward who could ruck a bit

the same role jvr is now playing

he's simply nowhere near good enough to ruck at afl level

Agree to disagree but his not good at either. Trent Ormond Allen was a more physical ruckman. Fullarton is a ruck rover at best. We desperately need to go into the market in the off season.

So because the club used the term “Ruck Forward”, you conclude that ruck is his intended role?

That’s one of the most illogical points I’ve read on here in a while.

You would think if someone’s intended role was a ruckman, it would be listed as such.

equal clearance leader

20 possessions

1 goal 1

He would have delivered more as a half forward.
Most of his possessions were from being a loose player - the opposition was also loose.
Contested marks anyone?
No point in having someone in the centre that avoids body contact and dump kicks it.

What's baffling is why you continue to keep picking at this scab.

We get it.  You don't agree with the decision to draft Kentfield.

No need to make the same post over and over again in multiple threads.

i don't think that's in question

but what's the sell? "come and play in the vfl"? not exactly going to be getting someone more capable than fullarton

if finlayson is pushed out of the pear, i'd consider him a more likely prospect

I find it so hilarious that you are a poster that basically only comments on a single issue and that, of all the possible issues to get heated about, drafting a developing young key forward with a nothing pick in the mid season draft is the issue you’ve chosen.

The world is a weird place.

You're very slow. Some suggest he was recruited as a forward/ ruck. It was the opposite.  Desperate for another ruck, not forward. If we believe your hypothesis for a second the club lost its mind. Who do you suggest was going to fill in for missing Max? Actually, forget it. Bores now. Why would you debate such an illogical person as myself anyway?

There’s no debating our list is devoid of a genuine experienced mature ruckman. I could talk about that for days.

But you are clearly ill informed on Fullarton. And haven’t shown anything to prove “a ruck is his intended role”….

You are correct when we ran out of tall forwards in ‘22 & ‘23 with disastrous results Fullarton was bought in to hopefully provide some coverage as well as doing the JVR chop out ruck role. However, JVR is a far superior chop out but it’s robbing Peter to pay Paul as he’s not kicking goals and neither is Petty. The fact that the coaches refuse to play Fullarton means he is a bust, so we definitely need to pick up a ruckman in this years draft.

Haha yes well played 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I probably should’ve said - backup ruckman 😅

Bailey Laurie looked a class above today. I could see him pushing into the senior midfield next year. He is looking a lot stronger. He has made big improvements to his game, especially his repeat efforts.

Is that what you trying to say? Then totes agree.

Fullarton goes alright around the ground don’t you think? He has good agility and uses this strength against bigger and stronger ruckman. Not sure he will make the grade at this stage. Good luck to the kid.

🤔

With Woewodin seemingly injured should come in next week and given a 'Sparrow type' run of games. Confidence needs building at AFL level.

Think I’ll trust Jason Taylor over Kozzyisalegend….

Yep agreed. I think there’s upside to pursuing with Fullarton. Noting his age and hasn’t played a heap of football (given his basketball talents).

Bowey & Sparrow have been very poor of late

They should give him a game next week, maybe rest Moniz-Wakefled.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
