People losing their mind over May talking to Gawn, will just LOVE all the harmony that JUH will bring to the club.

Absolutely not!

There’s still a small part of me that thinks Hogan is a chance to come back and finish out his career with us. Maybe it’s just false hope.

I think it's a false hope unfortunately. He'd be brilliant.

Earlier this year I would've said 100% no to JUH, however the more I think about it if he needed a fresh start and the deal was right maybe we take the punt.

Obviously it could backfire badly, but imagine if it came off. He could propel us to multiple flags, that's how talented he is.

I think so too. We've been crying out for a gun KPF. Well, here's our shot.

The other thing were he to nominate us, we can go to someone like Bergman and say 'look we've got a gun key forward coming, we've got Clarry, Trac and Kozzy in the middle., we are in it to win flags'

His wage is the sticking point. Depends how much the Dogs would be willing to pay.

Agree. It may be nothing or maybe if the relationship is untenable we give up a first rounder and they cover 20% or something.

I'm sure that can be worked out.

i'm not sure having jamarra and clarry together is a good idea.

We could get Hunter and Dunstan back as well. Imagine the parties!

I think his salary will be too high if they're only covering 20%. We'd need them to cover upward of 50%+, I reckon.

Flanders is an excellent inside mid being wasted at half forward, would be smart for a club to try and drag him out whilst Suns continue to bring in first round academy talent every year

Troll page I think....see below

Ah thanks. I presumed it was a GCS supporters' page. Won't delete it as people have replied, but could well be just clickbait with nothing behind it. My bad.

Highly likely it's a troll post BUT it wouldn't surprise me if Flanders actually did look elsewhere to grab a midfield role

Are people serious about referring to JUH as a "gun" KPF"!0

Don't shoot the messenger here but while we could give it our best shot, it could backfire badly.

Assume your taking the p 1 5 5 out of me with that post?

It absolutely could backfire badly.... but could also be amazing, not sure how hard that is to understand?

And again, this was said by Billy Brownless I'm not making stuff up and I'd like to think I have a decent rep on here for that.

Your reputation is sound. Of course it’ll be in tatters if Jamarra isn’t in red and blue next year.

The only reason I think it could work is to do with one man, Matt Whelan

He is the best indigenous support worker in the game and we have him at our club. If anyone can support these young guys to get the best out of themselves it is him.

Sam Flanders signed a four-year contract extension tying him to the Suns until the end of 2027.

But the Suns have three more young mids coming through their academy and I’m sure the Suns will be squeezed in the salary cap with Rowell wanting $1m+ per year.

He’s a good ball user and would be welcomed with open arms. But not sure we have the cap, the draft capital or players to trade to make it work.

For what it’s worth Tom Morris is now reporting that there is a watch on Sam Flanders in the second half of this year:

  • GAMEDAY: Western Bulldogs

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
