Hunter, Laurie, Hore, Brown above the level the longer the game goes on.

the kids in Brown, Kolt, Woey, Verrell and Jefferson all getting better each week.

No chance in hell BB gets on a 5 hour plane to Perth. More likely in versus Saints.

Lol that was a 100% free to Jeffo in the goal square.  Front on contact.  Not paid

I won’t name names, but someone’s older brother has just turned it over agains and again and again.

He had it in his hands and just had to hold it for a fraction longer, promising effort but just frustratingly didn’t get it done

Great run down and steal by White on Bins along the skinny wing.  Gets it to Hunter who dumps it to BB.  Gets a free for PITB and misses from 45 on a 45

Probably just pay Hunter out on Monday and be done with him. Fair dinkum

Really? Just about Casey's best for me.

Jefferson playing behind the ball now. been ok - got to the right positions and spoiled every contest, but also hasn’t taken the 4 marks he had a chance to (they were all heavily contested).

Sure he’s accumulated outside touches but otherwise he’s been awful, almost everything he does is soft and slow. And his non efforts going back with the flight are embarrassing as his tackling around the waist, inability to open his body to ever go to the right or anything else that requires possibly getting contact

Just now, whatwhat say what said:

Are you for real?

They’re trying to save the game

Alarming that he’s the best option! (He made 3 good efforts, the reverse jinx worked)

He did well in that role. He doesn’t really lose contests. He doesn’t really win them yet, but doesn’t lose them.

I'll respectfully agree to disagree. Just got a really hard ball get at a crucial time. Won't be surprised at all if he's on the plane next week.

3 point win to Casey!

Nice intensity from Casey in that quarter FTW!

White immense in that last Q

His first half wasn’t great, but he was so important in the second half. Agree he’s probably going to Perth. Maybe with BBB

Good to see Jeffo lay some big tackles. Got his hands to a few marks in the end, would have been nice if he clunked one or two

He fell on it, cheated to draw a high contact and the ump bailed him out. That’s holding the ball at afl level.

The only things he did well were some smart plays at times but he has to do them because he has no actual ability left to run/mark/kick/break tackles

No one put their hand up at all.

Go unchange for next week.

Why can’t the club give Mitch White one game in the firsts ?

He is so loyal.

And can play!

Royally f*#$ing it up.

Ben Brown influential but throw those boots out. 2 goals 6 behinds or thereabouts. Shane McAdam a way off. Jeffo getting more involved. Mitch White a power of work.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
