Gawn - what a heart

Viney - seemingly playing injured

Rivers - prolific and talented

Langdon - an important component

May - continued monstering opponents

Lever - was essentially impassable

Pickett - more rounded performance

Turner - lively and impressive

Neal- Bullen - in and under

Howes - hard ball gets

Billings - showed more endeavour

Petracca - powerhouse when required

McDonald - was impressive again

Woewodin- not a defender

Windsor - probably needs resting

Oliver - seemingly still restricted

Fritsch - important but nonchalant

Sparrow - limited tagging performance

McVee - some untypical errors

vanRooyen - can’t hold marks

Chandler - had limited impact

Laurie - took his chances

Petty - slow, rarely noticed

Very balanced three word joe,👍

Very generous Joeboy

Petty. Terrible body language

Billings. Time for Casey

VanRooyen. Needs a optometrist

Trac. Get off Instagram

Laurie. Deserves full game

Goodwin. One trick pony

If we played anyone half decent tonight we would’ve got flogged

joeboy-  (spot on) espresso after halftime

A few observations;

Langdon watch; Mr Ed is a bit like Max runs his own race.

Harrison Petty uncharacteristically playing without confidence.

Jack Billings 3rd quarter purple patch showed how it’s done.

Dan Turner trust thats not a flash in the pan. Reads the flight of the ball superbly and his kicking was excellent overall.

Bailey Laurie knows how to thread the needle. Well done!

Taj Woewodin strong tackle on Dusty, struggled to match the younger Rioli fleet of foot.

Clayton Oliver a better impact after half time.

Blake Howes performing like that instills belief and self-confidence

Another good effort. Thanks joeboy, could not agree more on Roy boy. Hold some marks and I might change my opinion.

Billings best game. But ok some are not satisfied. PETTY BACK TO CASEY!

TMac - lots of turnovers

Oliver preformed some magical hand balling for a guy with a sore mitt

He was ok just imo,

He’s in the team for his good ball use, haven’t seen much of that & can’t stick a tackle

Two terrible turnovers that resulted in goals

Different maggots umpiring

Fritsch has very similar goal numbers to Mihocek. (Fritsch slightly better by a few goals)

Both players are perhaps not really given credit for their consistency

You're stupid dig at Goodwin, who has 3 premiership.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
