Port Adelaide are offering 13 & 29 to try and get pick 9 is my mail.

Thank for info and an interesting offer.  I can see Port wanting to put pressure on Crows to take Draper or swoop to get him.

Given 13 will become 14/15/16 ++++ it is way less than what we gave up to get 9.  So can't see it happening.

Better deals to be had elsewhere if we want to slide out of 9

Depending on how things fall I wouldn't outright dismiss this.

Considering we did a similar move for Kozzie and we most likely would've given up a similar bounty for Gold Coasts pick 13, this may give us a chance to get back a good 2nd round pick in this draft. I wonder if we can get a better deal from another team along these lines.

West Coast 12 and 26 or Richmond's 11 and 23?

Langford (or best mid available) at 5

Berry/Reid/Travaglia/Allan/Lindsay at 13

If we're lucky one of Jack/Matt Whitlock, Jaunty Faull, Noah Mraz or Tom Sims may be available here at 29.

Alternatively

Smith (or best available mid) at 5, Shanahan at 13 and Boxshall or Ough at 29.

Good mix of 2 mids and a quality tall in these scenarios.

Would have to be confident a player we like gets through past Port, Richmond x2 and West Coast.

We would look at that for sure. If we are targeting a player/s at 11 that other clubs don’t rate in the top 16 it makes complete sense. You just have to be confident on your opposition intel

In such a deep draft it would be great to have another pick to use a promising tall def for example

I want best available, downgrading 9 for 13 & 29 won’t get us those

I reckon every club would have a different list of best available between 7 and 20 in this draft. seems to be very even in this range

So if you can your desired pick with a split pick, why not do it?

i don't think we will have traded up to get pick 9 (which will be 11 if ashcroft and lombardo both get nominated for the queensland teams, which they should) to trade out of it unless the offer is significant

13 and 29 (which will be pushed out to at least 16 and 30-something following further bids for kako and marshall) simply is not worth it for 11

11 for 16 and 33? no thanks

Not really relevant if Kako/Marshall get a bid before or after our picks.

No Guarantee that pick 9 is a better player than pick 29.

Hotton was projected top 10 pick, but had a knee injury this year. Get him at 13 and get to roll the dice on a KPP at 29

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns.
