replacing who tho?

to allow salem to move back into the midfield?

Maybe Chandler if he is not 100%, which would be sad given his great game Saturday.

Great reports all.

Hopefully Chandler does make the cut. Been impressed with his goal kicking the last 2 weeks, both from the snaps and the set shots.

I haven’t seen AMW play - would he be a like for like Chin replacement, or just maybe the young Kolt?

Many seem to like AMW. I am still on the fence. They have given him a run of half-back at Casey lately, where he wasn't great. Much better up forward. Can move well in tight areas, is a reasonable kick, can get in and under, he has some size for a small, and will fill out as he matures. Loves a goal. Not like Kolt or Chin, AMW at his best is more of a Farmer type player if he can continue to improve the skills. Also requires more confidence and aggression.

It’s a great move imo. As is staying in Adelaide ‘til after the Crows game.

Probably includes a trip to the Barossa between games. Good luck to them.

stupid ump let him get away with it, forcing chin to kick from 50. umps really need to pay more attention to setting the mark properly

The umps are getting worse and worse at that.   The stand rule was introduced to stop the man on the. mark moving sideways to cover any inside movement of the player with the ball.   (Not something I like but I can see the reasons).  But now we have the player with the ball starting well inside where he should be making the man on the mark almost irrelevant - too easy to run around.  In fact that's why many run back so they can be 'outside 5'. I never know if the ump is telling the player to go outside 5 or if he already is.  And as to where 5m is from an ill-defined mark position, it's a complete lottery.

Reading over this thread, jeez we're in a good mood collectively. The players' good vibes seem to be brushing off on the supporters?

Definitely, Chook. The players were like little kids at times. The mood was playful and fun. All except for one. Poor Bowser was really down in the dumps. He spent much time sitting on the step of the electric cart, kinda hidden away and when Richo or Goody or one of the physios squatted there to chat to him, his head was hanging and they’d be patting him on the shoulder (the good shoulder) and seemed to be consoling him. 😢

May and Melksham won't be there, so a trip to a winery/restaurant should be fine.

Thought that flying out after a main session at Casey on Wednesday sounded a bit bizarre

Haha who on earth said they’d fly out tomorrow? With the CBA you can’t just make players “work” without days off to do what they want for 9 days in a row without a break, especially for those with young families. The club would never spend two more days away than necessary…

The umps do if the player does.

Swift? Pfft … I’d say he’s got the moves like Jagger. 🕺 or Travolta

Only similarity with Swift is the moves come with 30+ others on the stage.

If they’re ‘meat’ birds which are different to layers. Home raised chickens have a slightly ‘gamier’ taste which is not everyone’s cup of tea.

Can you please stop! I’ve got little *Harry (HP35) sitting on my shoulder right now and she’s looking at my phone, very anxious.

*or little Jed (JA26). I can’t be sure. 😅

If they’re layers that aren’t laying you’ve got 2 options. Accidentally’ leave her out of the night time lock up and a fox will take care of her or slow cook her. Low heat, 8 hours, thyme, rosemary and lemon zest. Serve her up on mashed potatoes with a side of broccolini and carrots.

Too soon.

And that would never happen again anyways since they now sleep in the house.

So you can stick your rosemary and lemon zest where the sun don’t shine, along with your mashed spuds, broccolini and especially your carrots. 😡

You do know if it’s only one person, it’s technically not a queue, right?

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

2024 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress.
