I actually didn't get a barcode, don't think they have been released yet.. If you got a confirmation email  I'd say youll be fine.

Any Dees fans considering going, get your tickets ASAP, we've only got a small allocation of tickets and there's not many left by the looks of it.

After going rd 23 last year and using the free seats provided by the club I decided to purchase tickets this year. Got behind the goals on the top level which looks to the equivalent of level 2 at the MCG.

Not excited just yet, still flat after last years finals.

It's getting to be the case for a few I'd say.

To say, "Im feeling really valued and very supported" is an absolute dig at Simon Goodwin and potentially others. i had thought there was no animosity, but with that one comment i have completely changed my mind.

Glad you read between the lines,  GtG.Brodie’s a smart man; he’s not about to publicly disparage Goody or the MFC. Now if only people can accept the possibility that he wasn’t selected for the semi for a reason other than we didn’t want to select him. *Just saying.

*yet again

And its also another instance of disproportionate media coverage. Steven May says what he says at the BNF and its spoken about for days on end. Yet crickets on this? Absolutely nothing. We get savaged for some reason. what makes it even more confusing is that in a recent survey, Melbourne was about mid table when it comes to teams that other supporters cant stand, so its not like we are more despised by the broader AFL public.

First game on March 7.   Strewth.

Too early .Can dees go B2B at the SCG. Would surely be a first.

Grundys comments were fair and totally justified. Not a thing.

The fun has gone out of it for me.

Cant stand the media and AFL corporate.

G’Day all,

Unfortunately there is no opportunity for Melbourne members from Melbourne to sit in the Melbourne supporter section of the SCG for the opening round. Only MFC members based in Sydney have this option.

As such would any MFC member based in Sydney who is not going to use their allocation of 10 seats able to share their barcode with me so I can order two seats in the MFC supporters section? (Maybe send the barcode by private message if you’d be so kind)

Frustrating Melbourne based MFC members can’t get access to these seats but it is probably more to do with the limited release from the afl then with the club itself.

Thanks again,

Dusty

You’re better of buying tickets and getting decent seats, the bay allocated is in the pocket and viewing is restricted as the ground has a massive crown. I sat there rd 24 last year, never again. Was better of watching it at home on tv.

That's not what I wanted to hear.. I'm a Melbourne based member and did manage to get one of these seats a while back, even if the view is restricted, I'd rather be sitting with my own kind than with some feral swans supporters

We also sat there in Round 24 last year (we couldn’t sit behind the goals since that’s where Sydney members only sit) and I thought it was fine. As DanielE288 says, you’re with other Dees fans, so it’s all good.

Any spare barcodes or did you two use all 10 of your seats. If you only used up to 8 any chance I could use the other two? No one has come forward as yet. Happy via pm. Many thanks!!

I hope we as a club close ranks re the media as much as possible this year.

I know there are media commitments and expectations but if I had my way I'd have players and staff talk to the media as little as possible.

We seem to be the latest whipping boy and it sometimes seems they are looking for things to dump on us.

I hope that we do most of our talking on the scoreboards this year .

It's getting closer.

Keen to fly up for this!!

anyone know if there’s a certain pub melbourne fans gathers at before a scg game??

It’s funny, when I fly to Melbourne for games my wife and I will go out for lunch / dinner at a restaurant then drinks at a pub before the games starts and because we’re staying in the city we have the luxury of the Melbourne tram network.

When attending the SCG we drive in, the public transport is not as user friendly as Melbourne’s in terms of convenience. No trains to the ground only buses, not sure if the recently upgraded tram network goes there. So we park close by and walk straight to the ground.

@hardtack or @Sydee may be able to shed some light on this for you.

The us vs them ( every one else) suits every now and again. Creates an edge on occasions.

Think you are overreacting a little about us being a whipping boy but again can play a role in the trenches.

I think we should be as aggressive as we believe we need to be and be active in our actions and not be scaredy cats at all. Get on the front foot I say.

Isn't the light rail station near by?

Not sure, I think it might be. I’m coming from Homebush way so there’s no where for me to catch it. Driving is the best option for me. Thinking about it I spent more time in Melbourne’s CBD last year than Sydney’s.

Sydney is a beautiful city. Greatest Harbour in the world possibly and lots of Sunshine.

But in terms of getting around on pt Melbourne is easily the better city.

The Scg although close to the CBD  is kind of like how getting to Waverly used to be.

A bus to the tram followed by two more bus routes. Not good. Don't get me started on Snz stadium or whatever it's called.

The MCG and Docklands are so easy to get to.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
