With his seemingly endless reserves of energy and a tireless work rate, Neal-Bullen’s ability to apply constant pressure up forward makes him a valuable member of the team.

I thought I’d add that David Hussey told me many months ago that he asked Alex & Jack Viney to talk to the VIC cricket squad mid last year and he told me that Alex spoke so exceptionally well that he could never recall a more impressive young sportsman address a group.

He told me went straight up to Alex and told him how impressed he was and that he has an outstanding career in sport leadership, management awaiting if he so chooses.

Limited player, very nicely looked after by Goodie in 2022.

Thought he struggled early on but was pretty good for us in the last two thirds of the year.

Historically I was not a fan, but loved his year last year. Maybe i was missing his contribution in years past.

Rarely plays a terrible game. Sometimes plays a very, very good one.

This bloke has a tremendous work ethic. Love his passion for the club too. Seemed a little down in form last season but still had a good one. An underrated player who is deservedly respected and liked by his teammates and supporters.

I have huge respect for Alex Neal-Bullen but it hasn’t always been the case up until halfway through 2020 I thought that he just wasn’t up to it. Then either he changed or I twigged to just how important a foot soldier he was to our young team. ANB has continued to grow as a premiership footballer and is now in our top 10-15 players, I really hope that he can play 200 games for us and share in addition premiership’s, he is another of our quiet achievers.

2023 was his best year.

Worked hard to get to where he is.

On his 2023 form, top 10 selected every week. A pure joy to watch. Wrings every last skerrick of ability and effort from himself.

19 goals last year was a very nice return. His 20th was taken away from him in the last game.

Forgot that he had 24 touches and 1 goal in a flag - very nice performance on the biggest stage!

Reminds me of Cam Bruce in that he runs his guts out in every single game. Supremely fit like Bruce and with stamina to burn. Read what Maxy says about him in his book. Such a team player being first to congratulate a team mate. Thanks Alex. You are an inspiration to the team by personal example.

Incredibly important cog in the machine that will never truly get the accolades he deserves.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line
Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
