This is looking like a choke of epic proportions. Smashed at the contest and in contested marks. Poor decision making when we do get open. Brisbane must be laughing. Had to win the last game of the season to snatch a double chance and now look like hosting another Grand Final.

I think that might be 5 quarters in a row now that we've been goalless.

Pretty poor from start to finish. Lack polish and as already stated, if you take away our handball chain game we are totally hopeless. We have been smashed in every facet of the game

No goal in nearly 3 quarters of footy in perfect conditions?

Oh dear...

5 quarters since a goal.

I’m at Ikon. It’s no fun here.

What is it with the MFC and finals? We've talked up our culture a lot but we're as soft as butter. Demon Spirit my eye.

I’m completely gutted and it’s only 3/4 time.  I’v very rarely said that in a Dees AFLW game.

Extremely soft football along with some dumb decision making.

You make your own luck in footy but geez we haven’t had a good bounce all day

Geelong will fancy their chances next week. i hope we can get our [censored] together sufficiently to win that game at least and avoid the dreaded straight sets.

One of those days.....

Happy with a goal at this stage.

We always said one day the women's game would be just like the men's.

ow is that not a HTB against Kearney. Not that it matters at this stage but umpiring is as poor as usual

Norf player runs 30 metres, all good

And their fans celebrating like that goal won the flag. Crom will destroy them in the prelim.

I don't think it's hyperbole to say it's probably the worst game we've ever played, considering the occasion. Hopefully we come up with a solution because Geelong will have a very clear game plan next week.

I’m speechless, so I won’t say any more!

Melby-wobbles!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
