I reckon Lalor waxing with Petracca as a FWD/MID early on would be pretty damaging, although Draper would bring an entirely different profile to our midfield mix.

I wouldn’t rule out a tall either, although the academy kid last year on the back of JVR and Jeffo makes a tall forward unlikely, you’d have to be completely in love with the pick.

Not saying he’s going to end up at his level BUT the player who Langford most reminds me of is Bont 

Strong, great overhead, piercing left boot and what he lacks in pure speed he makes up for in high footy IQ

You’d be happy with any of the top 5 or 6 prospects but Langford is really the standout for me

I know statistically a couple of these guys won't pan out, but that's a quality list of mids (not even accounting for Smillie).

Not sure there are any talls worth taking that early, unless we love Trainor and think he can play early as a TMac / eventual May replacement.

Trainor, Shanahan and Armstrong all look like guys you’d take in the top 10.

If the state of our midfield and recent/future draft picks were different I’d be open to any of them.

I just watched highlight packages of jagga smith smilie Fos Draper Langford lalor trainor and Joe berry

out of them Langford and lalor ooze best players in comp potential, they make things look effortless and seem to have more time. They can have wow moments 
I really like Joe berry, he has a bit of sheezel or Zac Bailey about him. The way he moves side to side and can be really crafty with his kicking. 
He could start up forward and move into midfield with time.

Agreed. Bold move but definitely worth it.  Tigers might want to smoothe out their picks across this year and next.  Giving up a future first is risky but worth it to get a pick around 12-13 this year

Looking at Twomeys and Rookie me top 30 they are in the main reasonably similar. Most are within 2 or 3 picks of picks.

Eg Twomey has Lalor at pick 9, Rookie me at pick 7

The major differences are Twomey - Langford at 3 and Rookie at 10.

Twomey has Armstrong (KPF) at 8 , Rookie me has him at 18.

Twomey has Shanahan (KPF) at pick 21, Rookie has him at 16

 Late in their picks Twomey has  Dattol at 29and Sims at 30 - Rookie me not included.

Rookie me has Mraz and Jaques at 29 and 30 but no inclusion on Twomeys.

So over all fair agreement apart from a few players mentioned above.

I see Langford as being much more ‘in the eye of the beholder’ than most, so this makes sense. Some will see the things he does really well and others will see some holes. It’ll be interesting to see where he goes on the day.

If we can somehow manage to get to a point where we have two picks in the first 15, it would be very handy.

twomey's is his own personal ranking, not tying in club needs, i believe

perhaps rookie me central's factors in supposed club requirements as well?

As a welcome distraction I've made the last 30 mins prime Murphy Reid footy watching time.

Poise, that is the word that comes to mind. Poise and lots of it.

Not only does he make great decisions but he makes good quick decisions under pressure with great reaction time. His vision is very good and his forward craft ain't bad either. Haven't had a good look at his speed but with these attributes he's not gonna need to be a track runner. 

Dragons have been blessed having both him and Ashcroft, both will be good value in the big time.

Dodson or Whitlock if we end up with 25 for Nibbler and they're still available (assuming we're using two picks before that for midfielders)?

We need to be wary  of selecting dominant kids who can’t kick.

Eg Elijah Tsatas. Not writing him off yet but he has a bit of work ahead of him and considering the mids we have currently ..

He’s definitely a smart player with very good decision making. Perhaps reminds me of Lachie Neale.  Good endurance runner so should test well at combine.  Accumulates the footy and creates. Has the footy IQ factor that puts him in the top 10 calculations ( I had him at pick 11 in my phantom draft 14/8/24).
Kicking is not penetrating with kicks 35 metres and sometimes up and under. Tackling ok but bigger bodies in AFL 

One kid out of Queensland that has improved this year is Ty Gallop. Plays key forward at local club Maroochydore in QAFL as a 17 year old. He’s not Jed Walter but can take pack marks, loves a goal and has physical presence even as a youngster. He can kick 45/50 metres easily. Records this year shows kicked 8 goals in 3 Coates league games for the Brisbane Lions academy,  4 goals in 2 Under18 championships games for Allies and Kicked 30 goals in 9 QAFL games for Maroochydore (including 16 in last three games of the year). Dominated the last game of the year versus morningside. He is unfortunately tied to the Lions academy but sure to bolt up recruitment lists.  Not sure the Lions have ability to match as they will have invested heavily in Ashcroft and Marshall.  Aggressive young key forwards are hard to find. Might not be top 50 but Dees have to find some gems with skill and some real toughness in their style.  Reminds me of Logan Morris in style.
