For those thinking Collingwood could lose next week, just a reminder that they’re playing the team that beat West Coast and North by a combined margin of 10 points in their prior 2 games.

Agreed. And they will need the win to prove to themselves that they’re still the team to beat. If they lose to Essendon it’ll be a disgrace.

Remind me to not go on here next week when the 'IS RESTING PLAYERS RISKING FORM?' debate starts. I already avoid any posts that mention 'loading' on either side of that debate, haha

Collingwood are going down like flies so I think I need to accept that Brisbane are going to win. Murphy looks like he's out so Collingwood losing to the DONS looks like a real possibility.

As I mentioned to Jaded, the trend overseas of resting starters in games that don't matter is old news

If it was allowed, I'd be happy to play Casey against Sydney if that game had no impact on our finals position

But there's the whole disrepute stuff etc that would rear it's ugly head

Why risk injury to the best players? Makes zero sense

Sure if you say so

thats not what the ladder and match reports say though , is it

Match reports and the ladder say we lost. But in terms of form and momentum, we won. And isn’t that what matters more?

Wow didn’t think of that.

That would make Sydney a critically must win if Pies lose next week.

Not sure it’ll matter, if we beat Hawthorn this week, it won’t matter whether we win or lose next week, we will still finish 4th. Only way of changing that is if Lions magically lose next week or Port loses, all unlikely outcomes.

This team has beaten them six times straight, if they needed to prove something it was tonight.

Big difference in quality between Lions and Dons don’t you agree?

Pies defense is poor, especially without Moore, but their real issue is their midfield. It is not great, especially without Daicos.

How many UNLIKELY outcomes have we had in the last five weeks. No team is easy.

Elliot smacked his head on the ground there. No concussion test?

WE NEED AN INDEPENDENT SYSTEM.

He’s gone off to get tested

Yes 4th place is likely our spot (assuming we win this week) so the Swans game would be a dead rubber.

I wouldn’t rule out Freo beating Port if they’re near their best, but unlikely.

Tonight’s result would’ve definitely played havoc with peoples ladder predictor.

BT just said Hipwood is milking the clock. Five goals up with a minute on the clock isn’t milking the clock, right? Serious question.

Keep in mind, we have to win 1 more or Carltank lose both to stay top 4. I’d be happy to worry about week 1of the finals once that little issue is resolved.

Bloody hell Collingwood, letting Brisbane get %.

Collingwood has done well with its outs, class team, but they are looking damaged now. Elliot won't play next week.

Hasn't Ginnivan improved.

No, but BT probably thought Collingwood were still a chance

Just to be clear we beat Carlton. That was a goal.

It's still a L next to our name and pretty much cost us top 2 spot.
