Turner has been outstanding under pressure

Lohman has been impressive for the Lions. Might get a chance next week with McCarthy out injured. Ooc and dogs apparently keen.

Will see what we need in near 3 quarters

Not whether he can play a full game we won’t.

Adams has developed nicely this year after a slow start from a limited pre-season. Fair bit to work with as a key defensive prospect.

Agree, I thought Jefferson was starting to look bigger, especially in the hip area. Muscle is building well, which I thought wouldn't happen.

Spargo gone quiet this quarter

Could probably add some value with some stints in the midfield I would have thought.

TMac not applying any fwd defensive pressure. Spargo playing well for mine. Like to see Hibbo lift.

Surprised to see Pig has had some many disposals but there you go. Rate him a cut above most vfl players......

3 tackles, the second highest for the dees. has been fine for a tall forward

And had a couple of poor tackle attempts.  was very good in the first though.

Some of our poor turnovers were from senior players who should be doing much better at this level.

Only one who is putting their hand up for selection are Woewodin and Daniel Turner.

Think that is harsh on T Mac and Hibbo. Agree that the mistakes are bad (a combo of running under the ball and delivery [due to no judging the wind]).

Thought Tom is our most likely key forward replacement atm. Kicked 2 goals and contesting.

Jefferson continues to improve, picking up kicks around the ground. He is a nice mark and lovely kick for goal, as demonstrated by his his beautiful shot today from about 45 out.

Daniel Turner is so dependable in the backline. Will be stunned if he isn’t a regular in the seniors soon.

I still like Deakyn Smith and would persevere with him. Woey going ok too.

Size would help, but the two big contests he lost was he thought he had it and a smaller, quicker opponent stole the ball, turned and ran. Annoying, but not something he can’t fix for the second half

Edited, as I was wrong.

6th guarantees a week off, as 7 to 10 play for wild card entry into finals.

Dan Turner will be the biggest beneficiary of Petty’s forward form.

Good the AFL is trialling this nonsense instead of working out a way for Casey to not have a bye every second week

Lost count of the Casey errors in that last series of plays

Same old poor disposal costing them this game which they had controlled.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
