He spoke very well!

It is a great testament to our recruiting that every young kid I have heard speak in public, has done so in the most mature, well-mannered way.

This includes McLean, Bartram, Miller, Jones and now Petterd.

He said that he is currently 80kg, but is hoping to be at the 86-88kg mark by next year.

Well done Ricky! I also have heard that Nathan Jones is eligible but it is strange he is not in that list of odds.

Neither Jones nor Petterd were listed when last weeks Darwin board closed around wednesday. Petterd would have been a lot better than $15.00 last week and Jones as a saver is worth a big go too. Exceptional value, I'm tempted to open a Sportsbet account right now.

Love watching Petterd and Jones play, early on you can already tell they are going to be great players for MFC. Hope there goood form continues. The Melbourne midfield combo of Jones and McLean will be unstoppable.

Even though Jones is eligible, I think they'll favour the new kids of 2007 and the fact that he already got his nomination last year.

Recent history BBP shows that 4 of the past 5 Rising Stars played the year before they won. Petterd of course could buck this trend.

And in the year of the exception (Deledio) our bloke, young Brock, was arguably leading the award when he fell at the last few hurdles with injury. McLean had played 9 the year before.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
