    I reckon Clarko gave Oliver 4. He basically killed the game in the first quarter. Made sure it was done and dusted.

    If Dangerfield copped half as much as Oliver did RE his kicking it would be a miracle.

    I think we all understand that blokes who win the ball inside and bang it on the boot under pressure aren't hitting targets as much as a loose outsider.

    Because its Dangerfield. He will run the AFL one day. Everyone just loves to fawn all over him.

    Same way that they tell me how great Hawkins is, because he literally decapitates his opponent each week so he can take a mark, and the umpires let it happen.

    Imagine if Gawn could do half the [censored] Hawkins does... he would be taking 95 contested marks a game.

    Well @Jaded No More, you either don't know the meaning of "literally", you don't know the meaning of "decapitated" or you were exaggerating for comic effect.  My money's on the last of those options.

    Yes first votes this year for Brayshaw.  He’s had a moderate to quiet start to 2023. But he proved his quality this week.

    No coincidence that he played more midfield minutes and got votes. He’s wasted down back but I understand why he’s been down there.

    Was interesting that Sparrow, Jordon, Kozzie even Harmes when he came on spent more time in the midfield. Perhaps after quarter time they thought with a 10 goal lead it would be a perfect time to blood them? Even saw Tracc and Clarry dropping back to half back on occasions.

    When Clarrie can produce a coherent sentence people will realise how good he is.

    Most of his possessions were down back too, only a few in the middle.

    I said he will run the AFL one day. He has a finger in every pie and the media love him. 
    Just because I find him and his club insufferable, doesn’t mean I don’t recognize what a great player he’s been over the journey.

    I think in general because the game was done within 8 minutes and the other defenders had their forwards covered, he was able to play a lot more loosely and run off and impact forward of the centre more than usual. 
    Had a great game as a result.

    I read  that you wrote " ruin" rather than "run "!! 

    In my defence I was born in Geelong and other than the home ground advantage favouritism thing I still have a soft spot for them. 

    Last years premiership team was  "complete ", brilliantly prepared  and Selwood and Dangerfield firmly turned the game when required after half time.

    I hope Trac and Clarrie can become as precisely effective as  career partners. 

    I rather be playing the Cats for this year's flag than last year's.

    I detest Richmond who were the Club that stole MFC' s home ground advantage

      Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans.Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

      For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

    • CASEY: UWS Giants

      The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

      A undermanned Dees showed some heart and desperation to put the Fremantle Dockers to the sword as they claimed their first victory for the season winning by 10 points at the MCG.
