In recent years, there’s been a build up of rivalry between the Casey Demons and the Box Hill Hawks and this weekend the two sides go bush to Wonthaggi. After their surprise defeat at home to Richmond last week, Casey will be desperate to win against the undefeated Hawks to retain a top four placing. It won’t be easy.

What’s your team WERRIDEE??

White is back this week

That is a very strong VFL team should give the Hawks a good run.!!!

Surely Laurie or Harmes are the sub this week.

Really keen to see Zane Duursma step up for this one.

The sub should play this week because the seniors are on a Saturday and the reserves are on a Sunday.

What's wrong with Munro? When is he supposed to be back?

The undefeated Hawks have a very strong lineup that’s been bolstered by a few players coming down from their AFL team. This is going to be a tough contest.

What happened to White?  Injury I assume?  I couldn't see any news with a quick search, but he wasn't in the side.  It's been bugging me for weeks.

(not bugging me enough to take the time to do a proper search, obviously 😁 )

Where would George Grey be playing when dropped from Casey? I really rate this guy.

I believe George Grey and White are both linked to Cranbourne. And Munro? There was an article saying he played a couple of games there last year and kicked 5 in one. Named in best last week so if available I would think he will be in this week...despite team sheet which is often off.

Had to have his left knee (don't hold me to which one but pretty sure it was left lol) cleaned out.

Yes both very strong line ups.  Will be a close one inv.  Agree with comments re George Grey.  He is often one of the best and has developed really nicely over the past 2 years.  Would be first back in if a space is available.  They must rate Max Gregory (or junior Bowey as I call him) to have him in before other more seasoned teammates.  Showed good traits with the footy this year.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
