Either:

Grabbing some food (beers) heading down to the botanical gardens to sit amongst the flora and fauna with my sister and father. Then moseying on down to the G about 7 and yelling for a couple hours.

Or

Have some mates round for a menagerie of bbq'd food, beers and smoke breaks on my balcony.

Can't bloody wait!

Yeah that was a bit of a shame when it came in, will get there a few time this year but definitely gotta plan ahead.

Hi layzie. I understand having it as a policy during covid restrictions but all those tables in the front room will always get  filled regardless. I used to like getting there just after they opened (which used to be 12 noon during a day game) and grabbing a seat in the window with a pint and the paper until friends turned up.

Yeah it's an interesting one, we went before the Sydney final last year but other gamedays are going to be more fluid and last minute. Will see how it goes.

3.30 start for me.

Sports Bar with a Saturday Roast Lamb before the game.
Whiskey on the rocks for the first bounce

Number 14. The campaign begins…

We should all expect nothing less than a Flag this year. The list is Top Shelf and primed.

Two hour drive to Canberra - then a flight to Melbourne to watch them mighty Dees.

Any word on ticket sales?

Wake up (hopefully) and break my fast. Feel nervous. Go Demons.

Watch BT Sports coverage from 08:25 from behind the sofa until we establish a commanding lead. Curse BT’s buffoonery if it’s him calling the game. Curse the umpires.

Join mates for pre-match pints before heading to Sunderland v Luton, EFL Championship at 3pm.

Back to pub for more pints with an FA Cup quarter final on tv followed by the takeaway of my choice (most likely Indian from the Moti Raj) and a replay of Footscray’s capitulation, all washed down by a natty little red.

A day of blissful self-indulgence.

Black Cats a chance?

Nah. Good win yesterday but too lightweight and playing with just one fit striker and likely to be out-muscled. Back the away win.

Looking good. My Dad spent his formative years (Thirties) following Sunderland (by steam train) around the UK. He told me there were just two teams of any note back then, Arsenal and Sunderland.

Fast forward to early sixties Melbourne and despite my early leanings towards Footscray, he made me support Melbourne because of their intense rivalry with Collingwood, mirroring his hatred of all things Newcastle (filthy magpies, etc). He wasn’t wrong, two of the most boorish, self-aggrandising fan bases in the world.

Anyway, back on topic…

Lots of People hate Arsenal. That’s ok, we just quietly go about our business.
This year they can smell it. Won’t be easy, but they know what needs to be done.

The Reds are letting me down.

Well, actually, pretty nice little Saturday. We're going to Home Depot. Buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring. Stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath and Beyond, I don't know. I don't know if we'll have enough time. Then head home to watch the big game.

Going backwards fast

Is it concerning that more than half of us die hard supporters aren't going to the game?

absolutely zero judgment for the many and varied reasons you all can attend. I myself was going to miss but for some good work misfortune

I think Carlton will outscore Richmond, so all going well, this means they should win.

Gore St. That’s a nice part of town Earl. I can see why The Rose is your local.

I prefer the 1963 Stingray’s, particularly the split back Window. Magnificent car. I am not a GM guy, but they got that one right.
A neighbor back in the 90’s had a Yellow Stingray the same as the photo.
took me for a few rides. It was terrifying!! In the passenger seat i am almost lying down, all i can see is the sky and we are doing almost 200km/h down Beach Road

A true beast

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
