Could you please ask Brodie at what age he realised that becoming a professional player was a strong possibility and, on a related note, what does he think he’d be doing if his AFL career hadn’t panned out?

…….. and aligned to Moe’s question, how does Brodie rate the ‘culture’ at Melbourne.   No need to ask him how it compares with C’wood (I think we probably know the answer to that!) but I’d every interested to hear his views on our culture, and any insights as to how he was ‘inducted’ to the Melbourne ‘way’.

As a secondary question, how does he perceive the difference in fan cultures between the two clubs?

Great podcast by the way.

I thought you were just sitting in the background, waiting for the game plan chat 😂

Great interview. What a calm and collected chap. Thanks Andy (fellas), Brodie and the MFC

Loved the interview Andy.  Great get, and perfect timing for our kick-off into season 2023.  Go Dees!

I think he might have been told that the guys from the Demonland Podcast were interviewing him so he probably assumed that there was someone else on the line too. When more than one of us are interviewing someone I will make sure that the interviewee can hear the other hosts and introduce them.

The best interview moment was when the great Allen Jakovich kept getting me and grapeviney mixed up.

Well done on the excellent interview done with new Melbourne recruit Brodie Grundy, @Demonland it is greatly appreciated! 😊👍🏻

Hopefully, you might get a chance to get Mark "Choco" Williams in for an interview sometime? That would be awesome too!

Does he agree top of the Ponsford is the best spot to watch footy at the g?

He would but not if we are playing in W,A. at that time.

I’m sure I heard a magpie chortling in the background at times during the interview (true!).  Several interpretations can be placed on this phenomenon, but lMO it was giving  Collingwood the ‘bird’ for letting Brodie go.

Only fault with the interview was that we didn't find out what his nickname at the Dees is. I'll take it upon myself and call him Norm. 🔮

Thanks Demonland and Brodie Grundy great interview and noticed that you were able to fit a lot of the questions in and get honest answers from Brodie. Max downplayed his role in getting Grundy across to the Dees but Brodie has mentioned Max’s influence in his last two interviews and how impressed he was that Max was in the Room. There’s a lot to like about Brodie Grundy and we are indeed fortunate that he chose us and I love Bruce’s dance moves above. Lol.!!!!

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
