A touch of 'double standards here.  Why would the Dockers be fuming?  I don't recall any angst when LJ sought a trade from us.

Not an apt comparison. It would be more like if Mac Andrew was drafted by us, having spent 5 years developing in our academy. And sought a trade in year 4 after finally playing 17 decent games in a role he'd made his own.

I would imagine they are only impressed with player requests from players leaving other clubs to come to them.

That is impressive!

Toby Bedford would be the best comparison but he probably didn't get the same starting 22 opportunity that Henry had.

Not a top 10 pick though. I don't like Bell at the best of times, but I can def understand why they'd be annoyed about this particular trade request given the time sunk into Henry's development.

Freeo not happy a guy in LJ’s draft year deciding to leave…

Hmmmmmm. Is there something wrong here?? I can’t remember the MFC expressing themselves other than LJ was a wanted player, and all the best, sayonara after he left.

Bell is old school and look at the results.

We're little fuss and get the job done every time.

Now Official. Whats to go to the Saints. Whats wrong with playing for Casey.

Not so sure about Casey, Langdon hasn’t exactly lit the year up and I had hoped for a bit more from Hunter in terms of helping with connection into our forward line. While they are gut runners I wouldn’t say they have elite speed either would love him at Melbourne.

Smart recruiting and picked up very cheaply by the Saints.

Very smart recruiting indeed.

Add outside speed and skill, something we haven't been able to address the last few years.

Getting real 'I bought you dinner, how dare you not sleep with me' vibes out of Fremantle on this.

Must be quite alarming for Freo supporters to see the number of best-22 and developing players who want out right when they were supposed to be on the cusp of contending.

Another feather in Bell’s endless cap

Side note: Andrew Brayshaw, Restricted Free Agent, end of 2025.

Revenge is a dish best served cold

Andrew would be a great get as Viney hits the twilight of his career.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
