If they are playing golf today then I guess there is no training/Match SIM out at Casey today.

In the YoPRO video Trac and Clarry were narrating their day and they mentioned that the day (presumably yesterday [Thursday]) they rocked up to Casey and trained with a Match SIM and then proceeded to do work in the indoor training center including gym work followed by a lunch where they were sampling the new sponsors product and then the announcement of the new sponsorship.

I guess yesterday at Casey replaced the usual Friday session.

They're training at Casey today.

They’re definitely training at Casey today, that video would’ve been filmed yesterday

Yep. The golf was yesterday afternoon.

Daz, a little thought to ponder.

Ralphy is saying Liam Henry will definitely be in Victoria next year. He is apparently very close to Kozzie. We lost Toby and overlooked Burgoyne. We have a need for his type of player.

What if we have an arrangement with Liam to come to us and of course Kozzie would know if it was in play and it gives him another housemate and another reason to stay.

Just spitballing.

It's certainly worth pondering.

History has shown that some deals via verbal agreement have occurred 12 months prior to being out of contract. Could that be the case here? Who knows, but it certainly would not surprise me if there is some strong negotiations going on between player management and Tim Lamb.

There was some talk a Melbourne based club had strong interest in Liam Henry but was contracted, so the move was highly unlikely.

Makes sense if it was us. Also worth noting that I do know we had strong interest in Henry in his draft year alongside Serong, Weightman, Kemp and Miles Bergman. Henry was obviously an interest due to him having shown his outside ability but also play as a small forward.

I’ve read this theory on various media outlets over the last couple of months …

I've never seen this sign that Ross the Boss put up at the Saints training at any of the Dees sessions.

I think Ross is dyslexic and the sign is meant to be for the boys to keep them on the straight and narrow - no Milfing

There 4 x 20 minute quarters today with AFL umpires.

Dunstan hamstring.

No Fritsch.

Is Grundy present? He too was missing from Wednesday's session.

Grundy was good.  Kicked 2 and gifted a goal to Pickett that he could easily have put next to his name.

If someone starts a training thread I'll add a few thoughts.

No worries Ross but I’ve already sent the drone footage of yesterday’s session direct to Goody. Hope that’s Okay.

For those interested, Max won the player's section of the golf yesterday with 41 points.

Dan 'Disco' Turner won a nearest to the pin prize showing the value of his recent lessons after last year's paltry score of 5 points.

@picket fence is at training today and will be starting a thread shortly.

Here's hoping he doesn't fall foul of the censors today!

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
