It's not something I have much givenagree, but I can't agree.

Friiiter and Wattsy actually both have quite a lot in commo. Both:

- smooth movers

- elite field kicks

- elite and super reliable shots at goal

- brilliant one on one in marking contests

- have/had good hands

- have/had high footy iq

- have/had similar disposal average

- criticised for not being sufficiently hard at it

- have/had fans questioning their best 22 lock status

But, apart from all of the above, an you say not liking grappling with defenders and playing at HB, id agree they have nothing in common.

One good, one no good?

Thinking about it now a JVR, Jefferson and Turner forward line could be something special in a few years time, looking forward to hopefully seeing them combine this weekend. All have some different attributes that might compliment each other, only time will tell

I think this season is a must breakout year for Jvr. He seemed to tread water in 24.

Jefferson looked great but one game...hold everything.

Turner is the one I hold the most hope for. He's listed at around only 89 kegs but he plays a lot stronger than that for sure.

I would love to see Milkshake back but with his age and body anything is a bonus.

Agree beaver but sadly I don't think Turner has much more upside. Useful player at best. He will play ok against the poorer side but the better sides will find him out.

If we got Jack Watts at pick 31 we would have been pretty happy overall.

Disagree OD Disco hasn’t played a lot of footy yet, his game against Suns last year was a bit of an eye opener think he kicked 4. With Disco, JvR, Matty Jefferson playing together should also free up Fritta and bring Chin and Sharp into play more.🙏🤞

It all went to [censored] when he was subbed off!

Yep.. structure went down the dunny! However having done one myself broken hand is potentially better than broken wrist, but depends on what part of the hand!

Has broken hand been confirmed or was it a finger nail?

Do you still think Turner is any more than average Deezone?

Ha ha still early days OD, I’d give him another half dozen games to see what he can produce, he could possibly end up down back but not writing him off yet.😁👍

Riewoldt no 1 pick …Franklin no 5 pick …Amiss no 8. The King twins have def not lived up to the lofty expectations..yet ..Hawkins was a very slow starter. I have no idea whether Matthew will make it but have zero interest in saying 2025 is a make or break year for him. I want to at least see him play a few AFL games before casting any aspirations. I do know for a fact that the coaches believe in him …he doesn’t need to be a Franklin or Riewoldt …there probably will never be players like them but if he can play his part in our young developing and promising forward line ..I’ll be happy ..

Ben King is an absolute star. Max hasn't come on unfortunately I think he will show it against us on the weekend especially if May doesn't play. Ridiculous to say this is make or break for Jefferson he has at least to 2027 to find his feet.

He like Petty isn't a forward and he is suffering because it especially when you consider Howes gets a game down back talk about a player that won't make it. He and Laurie have showed nothing and I'm losing patience with Bowey and Woewodin.

What your saving is we have no KPFs I agree I have been saying it ever since Brown in 2021. He was injured etc after that.

Any news re injury??

Goodwin said in his post match presser that he fractured his hand.

Thanks Dazz, hopefully get him back sooner than later!

I know it was a devastating loss to a poor side pf but you need to keep your sense of humor. I thought it was quite funny.

Gallows humour back at Demonland... who'd have thought...

Is it possible that Howes Bowey Laurie and Woe are all being played out of position.

Surely Bowey and Howes could be tried on the wing or half forward line! ?

Could turn Woe into a tagged? And Laurie is he an on baller or elsewhere?

Or they are simply  not senior AFL level talents 58er. IMO they fall into the group of too good at vfl level NQR at senior level.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
