every team gets injuries. we need to toughen TF up and deal with it

i actually donโ€™t mind the group going through some adversity mid season.

Agree, if we need a perfect run with injuries to win, then maybe we are not worthy.ย

Well, all this does is create opportunity for someone like Tom Sparrow.

I've been hard on him of recent because I haven't felt he has taken the next step as I thought he would.

If there was an opportunity and chance to really take the next step and show everyone what he's got then it's now. There's some big midfield minutes there for the taking and it's up to Sparrow to grab it with both hands now.

Why didnโ€™t we โ€˜manageโ€™ our best players during that period?

Clarry has barely missed a game in 6 years. hardly needs resting. plus we lost the bombers and almost lost to GC so not sure we have the luxury of resting

Next month will be a shambles and a window into the next few years unless Goodwin wakes the [censored] up and recruits another top mid in trade period.

Some hysteria abroad. Pathetic.ย  I'm sure the team has more bottle.

Just reported it on 9 news as well

Feel like this will get swept under the rug during the weeks.

This smells of when we sent Joel Smith back out with a strained groin in a nab game back in 2019 and ended up missing the year because of further damage.

This is not the end of the world. You can't replace an Oliver, but a bit of adversity never hurt anyone. The 22 who take the field on Saturday will know they'll have to give everything they've got to cover the loss of Clarrie. They'll be switched on and crack in.ย

Then we are not competing for the flag. If we cannot rest one of our galaxy of stars - then we cannot lose them to injury - and that is an excuse.

They donโ€™t get that from me. I expect to win this Saturday.

Sparrow was badly missed on Friday night. He does a lot of work off the ball to help Trac and Clarry. His absence meant that Port could shut down Viney, which they said was a tactic post match, and it left us very vulnerable in the middle.ย
People underestimate his role. Iโ€™m glad heโ€™s back this week. Just sucks that Dunstan is injured! Rubbish timing.ย

All clubs lose good players. Challenge is to see if we are a good footy club or not.

I feel for Dunstan big time.

Clarry out with hammy, Tracc playing with proppy ankle.

This will be a massive test of Goodwin's coaching

Clarry out... season in the gurgler

You know it.. i know it

1000s know it

He's not replaceable.ย

He is the Unicorn ffs

The only thing i will agree...an opportunity for someone else... sweet whoopd de do... oi vey!!!

Iโ€™m actually ok with this. I hated Friday night but this group needs to HTFU and grind out some wins. Theyโ€™ve got it in them and Iโ€™ll remain a believer until Iโ€™m not. Go Dees.

Port just rolled us with 5 of their 22 out

Edited by Roost it far

hopefully the midfield can pull their finger out and play some solid hard running defence. Saints win how many games with 8-10 of their first 22 out.

my main point is a 25yo gun doesnโ€™t need resting. injuries happen

of course we have to win on Sat. we have Harmes, Jordon etc to come in

Youโ€™re a little dramatic

Iโ€™d like to see Brayshaw , Kozzie and Rivers get extended runs in the middle to help cover the loss of Clarry

Bring in Howes or Disco, and play Rivers in the midfield. Rivers has form and confidence. Howes and Disco have good consistent form at Casey.ย

Get Angus to nullify Andrew. That will go a long way to beating Freo.ย

No.

I'm not accepting the season is over one bit.

Dangerfield missed 6 games last year and that did not stop them going on a full blown winning streak without him.

Accept it at your own peril, cool.ย

I won't.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
