i think jeelong should rightly be the favourites

i think the swans can make a close game of it

i don't really much care who wins, but if pushed, i'd prefer a swans win

i just hope it's a close game to watch

The music is gone.

So much better to hear the crowd after goals. Having loud music then just ruins the atmosphere, blunts the emotional ebb and flow of the crowd sounds in the game.

Now that the AFL have seen the light will they also logically cut the music in the lead up to the first bounce? Music is also ruining that period of crowd cheers...

I don't believe Sydney can win if Sam Reid doesn't play, crucial to their structure.

Interesting if they go for Amarty or McLean as subs - that means they may play and underdone Reid and hope.

So we have the GF back at the G for the first time in three years but no free-to-air coverage of the GF parade.  Well done Gil!

Sydney beat the filth by a point in the prelim so it would be fitting that they beat the moggies by a point as well. The 2 most hated teams done by a point in the finals. Nice.

I feel very conflicted towards this grand final

In the not too recent past I always watched the granny with mates or family, had the BBQ going, beers flowing. We were never too close to making it so didn't feel any sense of resentment towards the teams playing. I was able to watch neutrally

Not the case this year. I know we were good enough to be there. I kinda begrudge both these teams. I don't think i can watch and enjoy as a neutral. Not this year

Pretty well sums up how most are feeling. The post Queens Birthday season has been abysmal from an MFC viewpoint.

With the Storm exiting from the NRL finals so early there's not even any interest there

Sounds like the river parade could have been better organised

"Thousands of footy fans have lined the Yarra River to watch the players pass on boats for this year’s grand final parade, but many have been left disappointed by a decision to turn the flotilla around before it reached a key vantage point.

Fans who gathered on the Princes Bridge on Friday for an up-close view of Geelong and Sydney players on the river have been left frustrated that the boats were turned around well before reaching the bridge.

Spectators had packed the bridge up to five people deep only to watch as the pontoons turned around earlier than they expected."

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
