Richmonds already booked their finals berth today against Hawks.

If things dont go well for us next week we could run into Richmond in a EF.

Ugly.

Still not sure who I want to win out of Syd & C'wood to increase the chances  we finish in the top 4  IF we lose to Brisbane (yes, sorry, I'm looking at the pessimistic case). I think in that case we want C'wood to thrash Sydney and Sydney to not get their percentage up in the last round? Views?

I hope someone new comes into the footy market in the next broadcast contract.

Kayo is the worst app I’ve ever used. A big international player will surely wipe the floor with the garbage tech we have to put up with.

From what I’ve read everyone is pushing for their own commentary on all games. That at least gives us an option to avoid BT.

No, we never wish well to Collingwood. Sydney to win by the smallest of margins. They (Pies) then lose again against Carlton and drop of top 4. That would mean that we either win against Brisbane, Sydney loses against St Kilda (wishful thinking) or Freo to draw/lose.

Best scenario ....Coll beat swans but lose to Carlton r23.

We beat lions we finish 2ND. Pies % is putrid.

Cant rely on Stkilda helping us and swans % will likely finish higher than ours.

Dane Rampe… great goal. Who needs Buddy?!?!

GO SWANS!!!

Why do posters want swans to win. We cant finish  2nd. Imagine relying on Saints to do the right thing by us. Hilarious!

You all must really hate Collingwood...lol

I think most of us believe we are a good chance for the premiership as long as we are top 4, so not necessary to finish second.

Would come down to which team  "Melbourne or Sydney"won by the most next week. Myself I would rather play Collingwood or Geelong in the first week.

You do realise it’s harder for us to maintain second if Magpies beat the Swans ? lol 🤦‍♂️

Exactly, best case scenario for us is equalization of points. Then percentage will be like a flip of a coin.

If Pies win, we are likely 3rd, but FW final at the G against Coll if we beat Brisbane

But Sydney look a lot better

So the reigning premier must fear some teams (e.g. Geelong or Sydney)? Not the best attitude to have going to September if you ask me.

Have a missed the retirement of the red Sherrin - why are Sydney and the Pies playing with a yellow ball?

P.S. Sydney will win this. Simply because they played North last week!

After 2.30 start time = yellow

Why is there a problem with having a preference?

When I go to the Pub I'll eat anything...  But it's perfect OK that I prefer an Eye Fillet over a Parma

Fear no team but we still need to finish top four.

Do wonder how much last week has taken out of Collingwood

And expect last night to do the same to Carlton.

Would love to play Geelong first up but not sure we can finish fourth.

Ah thanks, I don’t think I realised that 😊

I literally think we are a better chance to beat Swans away than to win a final at the MCG, where we’ve been horrible for all of the second half of the year. Conversely we haven’t lost an interstate game yet.

Normally I'll barrack for the result the suits us best but in this instance i don;t care. I just want to see the pies lose because i'm sick to the back teeth watching them win tight matches

And yes, I hate them as well

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
