They certainly don't like playing at the G

Is that 15 in a row the've lost?

Would that be the non call of rebouncing the ball that went about 5 meters out of the centre circle. #23 is a shockingly bad umpire.

No. Richmond’s first goal. Absolute disgraceful decision

Agreed. Zorko is the worst captain in the league and yes I am including Heppell in that. He is a hot head and thinks of himself. Argues with the umps and has personal grudge matches a lot.

the Sooner McCluggage is made captain the better for them

Zeibell says hi ...

Feels like Sydney with their easy fixture are our main competitor for top 2.

Yep. A percentage booster against North could see them overtake us. They are a game behind however, so win all 3 and we cannot be overtaken. Lose one and it comes down to percentage.

Who chokes more though... Geelong, Brisbane or Port??? 🤔

Yet Fagan hasn’t felt the blowtorch…. it took years for Cameron at GW$ to be scruitinsed,  just like Fagan.

I’d take Zeibell any day over Zorko or Heppell. Puts his head over it and not a whiner

Essendon won and I do not really care or annoyed they did.

Ugh now it's confirmed the pies will play finals it makes me shudder. We really need to beat them on friday and keep them away form the top 4. I was hoping they'd have a few more years of pain.

Marvellous. I knew the year. That is a beautiful statistic

May it continue

I knew they would choke, i said it earlier in the year

I (sadly) remember when the Dees had a similarly bad record at Doglands.

If we win all 3 it looks like our opponent will come down to who wins the Sydney v Pies game at the SCG.

But a lot still to play out.

If that scenario played out, that would be two very tough opponents to open the finals series given how much grief those two sides have given us in the Goodwin era.

So for all of Brisbane’s dominance over the likes of North and the Eagles, they show again why they are overrated

2021
QF Dees beat Lions
SF Dogs beat Lions

2020
QF Lions beat Tigers
PF Cats beat Lions

2019
QF Tigers beat Lions
SF GWS beat Lions

That’s 1 out of 6 finals with Fagan as coach and large majority of current list.

Then this year they’ve lost to
Cats
Hawks
Freo
Dees
Bombers
Only beat Pies by 7 and Giants by 14.
Yes they best Sydney earlier in the year but the Swans are now in red hot form.

Could be looking at an early exit from this years finals, but they’ll still be everyone’s 2nd team.

Re: people's refusal to acknowledge Collingwood as a genuine contender, what would be the difference between Richmond's 2017 flag and a potential 2022 flag win by Collingwood?

Richmond made finals in 2013, 2014, 2015 but then had a year full of turmoil in 2016 finishing with only 8 wins and a percentage of 78. Then they obviously got it all together in 2017.

Collingwood made the finals in 2018, 2019 and 2020 but then also had a year full of turmoil in 2021 finishing with only 6 wins but a better percentage of 86 compared to Richmond's 2016 percentage of 78.

Collingwood are first on my list of teams I don't want to win the flag, but I can unfortunately see them as a right in the thick of the race.

Richmond 2017 and Collingwood 2022 are polar opposites. Richmond went 0-3 in games decided by less than a goal that year, and finished the season with the 4th best percentage. They also had genuine star power and AA level talent in every part of the ground. And they had Dusty.

Collingwood are a mile off. They've had unprecedented levels of luck in close games (statistically speaking, close games are essentially a coin flip). That might yet enable them to sneak into a top 4 spot, but I just don't see them having the talent to mix it with the best teams in September.

Friday nights game will tell us alot about both sides.  This is a must win for Melbourne. If we are going B2B this where our campaign starts with a finals size crowd and atmosphere. Its going to be huge.

Me too. I can see them falling off next year when everyone has film on them and some of their older guys get a little older but for now this is their shot and they are very much in it.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
