Is it bung or banged for bang?

Imagine if James Brayshaw said ‘Bang, Bang, Bung, Banged’

Not quite the same ring to it.

One for the keen observers: in the Cats versus Dogs contest will the umpires enduring indulgence and love affair with the Bulldogs hold sway on foreign territory, or will the constant whingeing of the Kardinia Park cowboys hold sway as usual?

Really, if the Dogs get the umpiring breaks again this week in the face of Corio entitlement then we know we will always be playing 19 on-field opponents against those pups.

You mean the past tense of ‘hang’ right? ‘Hung’ is already past tense. 😉

Also, who the hell uses the word ‘Bah!’ who’s not Uncle Scrooge?

I think he must have meant ‘Gah!’ - yes, ‘Bah, humbug!’ or in modern usage, ‘Bahahaha’, or my personal fave, ‘Bwahahaha!’ for that extra hint of derision.

All I want out of the Dogs - Geelong game is for someone to kick Selwood’s hand and break it.

Oh and for Geelong to lose.

Collingwoods driving everyone nuts.

The media will love them PREMIERS!!!!!

It must be a f##king  record. How many close wins. Insane.

Theyve arsed a alot of them due to incompetent opposition.

Us included 😕😱

The best thing about Collingwood’s winning run is the focus will intensify and then, friends, there will be pressure. Very pressure. It will make the loss when it comes just lovely.

Surely Saints wont lose from here.

Saints should be disappointed in that. 4 points but handy percentage gone begging.

Great to see Hannebery back.

Saints are playing boring footy again. No separator, loved watching their run and dash. Look one paced and pathetic again.

I hear Port have been rejected for the Prison bars guernsey in the showdown. Wiser heads need to prevail here and they need to be allowed to do this. It's beyond a joke.

Also a Good call by the AFL having Port wear their clash jumper which clashes a lot more with the Pies than their home jersey. Add white to the top and whit shorts. Wtf

I agree 100%. However it is Selwoods 350th game so watch how  many head high tackles he receives and the umps kow towing to the feral crowd.

Dogs pushed out of the 8. Need to win this badly. Cats with little on the line. Dare I get excited that the Dogs could win in Mordor?

Yep, another one for the AFL success reel..

Would be great if the umps took the Ginnivan approach and didn’t pay any ducks/half arsed high free kicks on Selwood!

Ugh the Selwood circle jerk is just too much. And the game hasn’t even started yet. 🤮

Gotta say at the end of the day I admire Selwood and think he's has a great career.

That's right DL, come get me..

Playing on Friday night has made me realise how dumb the rest of the AFL and teams are.

Hopefully Selwood’s 350th goes as well as Enright’s 300th

yeah you know the one 😊

Love how their telling us, how much we admire him and think he is fair and hard player.

Yet every persons first thought on Selwood is ducking for frees.

Wonder if they will mention that?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

The Demons return to the MCG this time as the visiting team where they get another opportunity to put a dent into a team's top 8 placing when they take on the Hawks on Saturday afternoon. Who comes in and who goes out?
