Wondering what GWS will be offering for Bedford now.

Think their picks are now 3,12, 19 and 44.

Won't be pick 19 sadly. If 31 comes through for Hopper I would be working towards that.

Bedford and 27 for 19 and 44, then 19 for Grundy?

Interesting from Brisbane as well. Slight downgrade in points this year which doesn't help them for f/s prospects and now no first rounder this year for Dunkley either.

Agree. Dogs probably don't like this trade.

This is the problem

They also have 15 from the Brisbane swap.

And the Hopper deal, while stalled, is yet to come.

I’m afraid Cadman is at GWS next year. They need a KPF and they have the picks. Can’t see it any other way unless we get #2.

May come back to bite me but if so this is a good thing. High bust potential.

Bowes + 7 (Jhye Clark) plus Bruhn and Henry to the reigning premiers.  Wtf

They'll have to give something decent back to GC for 7 + Bowes - probably F1st.

Then what are they using for Bruhn and Henry? Will take 18 and ?

I don't think they're getting Henry done, that sounds like it's being driven by Henry more than the Cats and Collingwood want to keep him.

Few permutations could come out of Bowes to Geelong.

-Geelongs incoming 7 to freo for 13 and kangas future 2nd

-Freos 7 and future first to Melbourne for Jackson

Geelong will then have 13, 18 and kangas future 2nd which should facilitate deals for Bruhn and Henry easy enough, even if they throw their future 1st back to Suns. Depends if they want to take 7 to the draft or not I guess.

Works for me.

Effectively, WC would split 2 and send Rioli to Port for pick 8 and ports' F1st.

Freo are in a bit of trouble re: Jackson. I'd take 8 and WC F1st for Jackson and our F2

So north get pick 2 from wc for Francis, have to wonder what port can give wc in return. Maybe they turn that into Jackson

Like I said in the LJ thread:

I wish there was some news out of Freo.

The silence seems like they are doing side deals but ignoring Jackson.

Meanwhile their potential pick swap partners are doing other deals, players traded and Freo is playing in its own little pond, by itself!!

This also works…

WC get 8 and Ports' 2023 1st, while giving up 2 and Rioli

I wonder if they have taken him for granted. Just assuming he won't go to WC

I think they have their points now for Ashcroft without trading the first rounder?

What am I missing here ?

WC give up 2 and Rioli for 8 and a potential first rounder next year in the teens.

How are WC better off ?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
