There's actually people there. GWS should just move lock, stock & barrel to Canberra. I doubt anyone in Sydney would notice the removal truck leave.

100% agree and move North to Tasmania while we are at it.

You know Canberra is boring when GWS is pulling fans to games.

Preuss is a big man and is playing like it. He'll get a few more games yet if he keeps on presenting like this.

Giants ball movement is haphazard. Saints look 100 times cleaner and more efficient. Their defence is giving the giants no time and space. Reminds me of another team in this league.

Don't mind Big Preuss and would like to see him do well.

I’m amazed no one in the media has ever pointed out that an umpire is far more likely to pay holding the ball if the ball becomes dislodged from the tackled players’ hands.

It makes no sense but a common trend amongst all umpires.

Please tell me again about the Tom Green marquee.

very interested to see how we go against the aints in a few weeks

they seem to be able to get a man - usually 'missy' higgins - out the back on a regular basis, and max king's height + mobility might actually be a tough match-up for may; i wonder whether petty might be a better match-up

Great to see a few Melbourne Premiers beanies in the crowd.

You know how there are certain opposition players you can't help but love watching? Tom Green is great to watch. Pure old school midfielder with vision, grunt and class.

May has handled King in the past     Too strong

Wish I could get to our night game against the Tigers. Only been to one. It's a great atmosphere.

did you know he's got his own marquee?

he's a bilo clayton oliver; quite good, but not as good

yeah, but he's clearly much, much stronger in the contest now, and seems to be reading the ball in the air a lot better this season

What a rubbish free kick to Flynn! And the Saints players are not allowed to say anything.

Agreed he has improved.  We'll have to wait until we play them to see how it pans out!

This is a very lacklustre game Very. Reminds me of a suburban game

i reckon our defensive structure will be able to stop them and - at least judging by the two games i've watched them play this year - they're free-scoring and lack the defensive accountability that is our trademark

they can definitely score quickly tho

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.

The Demons were sloppy all day and could not stop the run and carry of the fast moving Hawthorn as the Hawks cruised to an easy 36 point win. Is the season over yet?
