Are any other Demonlanders having trouble getting seats for MCC members at the GWS game?

I can get them for Richmond and Hawthorn, but no luck for the GWS game.

Am I at fault, or Ticketek?

I reserved tickets for my son (member) and myself a couple of weeks ago. I would definitely ring Club Services and ask if it is fully sold (doubtful) but also if you are able to walk up and get a seat.

No problems here either. Standard level 3 seats for me, for both the GWS and Richmond games. How goods the Frank Grey Smith Bar, only $15 for a dim sim that’s been sitting there for 19 hours.

I got tickets on Level 4 last night with no issue.

On a side note, pre-COVID it was possible for my kids to scan their MFC memberships to get into the MCC for Dees games.
Now we need to book tix via Ticketek, it doesn’t accept their barcodes, so I need to buy them a visitor ticket, which is a bit annoying. Anyone else notice this?

As a 23 year MCC member the whole MCC/Ticketek booking system annoys me. I used to be able to push the oldies aside with ease to get to the seat I wanted like a Myer stocktake sale. Those glory days are gone.

At the start of the season, the MCC announced that certain games would be ticketed and require pre-booking. They then listed the games. All the games requiring ticketing were the larger games and is a covid thing eg. our first two games. The game v GWS wasn't one of them so I'm not sure why they're taking bookings. Are they just offering bookings for those that want them or has something changed?

Can someone please clarify for me the ticketing for the GWS match. I have not received an email from either the MCC or AFL stating that this match is full ticketed (especially the MCC reserve). It is a major pain in the a$$ ( nigh on impossible) to get tickets WHERE YOU WANT TO SIT. The last two matches have us in #39 so we are just about side on to the city end goals.

At this point we are just going to walk up on the night. Would really appreciate if anyone could advise.

Yes I have found the same. Have been meaning to ring the club (MCC) about this but haven't got around to it.

It's category 2, not fully ticketed BUT you can reserve your seat now, So it's semi ticketed.

For these matches, seats will be made available to reserve on demand on a best available basis across all levels of the Member's Reserve.

All remaining unallocated seats within the Reserve will be available for walk-upon match day for members by scanning their membership card upon entry and for guests with general admission visitor tickets Please note whilst a match may be categorised as allowing walk-up access, reserved seats may sell out. As such walk-up access is subject to availability.  For such matches, reserved seats on each level will be released on demand on a best available basis.'

Had prolems yetsreday getting SMS seats from Ticketek for Anzac Eve,  but GWS game went OK  a few weeks ago.

Ticketek aren't what you'd call a perfect system.  Or even user-friendly at times.

requires some perserverance from the punters.

I got 2 seats on Level 2 this morning. More or less on the wing. There were quite a few good seats still available. FWIW Level 3 allocation was exhausted.

Absolutely.....I couldn't get a ticket using a computer, because according to them my credit card has been locked.  Rubbish!

Then went to phone app and bought the same tickets using the same credit card.

Why can we get entry barcodes 3 weeks beforehand for the Richmond game as an MCC member, but MFC reserved seat members have to wait until 3 days beforehand?

Guarantee we will have the same problems with Ticketek come finals time....AGAIN!

Don't bother calling them, they don't answer the phones.

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
