Time for another clue, which will either enlighten you or frustrate you even further.

To the team already published above, you may add a coach in Leon Cameron, plus three emergencies in Wayne Carey, Greg Williams and Jeff White.

Does this help or hinder?  :D

A little aggressive I would've thought. Pretty content actually :) I just perceive most posters as fanciful. It's like if you go and read another clubs forum. Half the stuff you read makes you laugh at how biased it is. I'm very even-keeled and am completely impartial. Maybe being slightly more critical than most, aka the way Gary Lyon sees Melbourne.

you're gary lyon?

i should have guessed

I'm seeing authors, of a certain genre possibly?

Nothing to do with authors I'm afraid.

I'm off to have an earlyish night in the sack and will check in the morning to see if anybody has solved it.

Could this be the first ever brainteaser to confound the combined brilliance of Demonland minds?

I officially give up. But not for want of trying. I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time looking at those names to the point that I can almost reel them off by memory.

What's the 'DRUM', Demonstone? ?

Or should I say, 'Watts the...'?

You are not impartial, and you simply took a chance to pot a fellow poster who is just having a bit of fun and filling in the gaps between games.

How did I pot a fellow poster?  That implies I potted him personally. So please show me where I did that. I await that. You're the only one who made it personal.

Drum roll ..... Boomtish!

Gold medal to Timothy, Silver to Mazer Rackham (via PM) and Bronze to Hardtack.

The coach is Matt Cameron and the emergencies Danny Carey, Tony Williams and Meg White.

As a minuscule clue, there is one particular Demonlander (who I can't recall participating in these teasers) who would instantly identify the common factor.

This was a reference to @JimmyGadson whose current and past username (Steve Jordan) are both drummers.

Showing my age, Buddy Rich was the first to Count, followed by the dollop of Cream, then that demon Stone...

No Gadds, Purdies or Porcaros on AFL lists let alone a Modeliste...

Sir demonstone, if I may, here's another MFC 22 to keep things going. From a squad of only 33, I was forced to make one wicked selection, I'm afraid.

Ron Barassi, Matthew Bate, Ben Beames, Barry Bourke, Phil Carman, Don Cordner, Kevin Dyson, Brian Dixon, Steve Febey, Brad Green, Rod Grinter, Greg Healy, Peter Keenan, John Lord, Graham Molloy, Ian Ridley, Billy Stretch, Jim Stynes, Sammy Weideman, Brian Wilson, Jack Viney, Adem Yze

And Viney .!!

With @demonstone's emergence as puzzle maker extraordinaire coming to the forefront, I suggest he take over @The Riddler's position in putting forward cryptic clues as to who we will be trading for come the off season.☝️

Or perhaps he was the Riddler to start with?!!! ?

I thought it was position they were taken in the draft - until I got to Trevor Barker.

Apart from Dyson and Dixon, they are all in alphabetical order by surname.

D'oh! and double-D'oh! Alphabetical order was intended, though not relevant to the answer, I'm afraid, folks.

Have a look at my first sentence, and think about what group might be as exclusive as only 33 strong. And a half hint: my wicked selection is my last.

I have received Master Rackham's correct answer and the Gold is on its way to him! Everyone else seems to be stumped! Silver and Bronze still up for grabs!

Ooooh, song lyrics. As per trade week:

"Even if you've got Daniel Rich, a trade for Young and Hart is much better by far."

Ron Barassi, Matthew Bate, Ben Beames, Barry Bourke, Phil Carman, Don Cordner, Brian Dixon, Kevin Dyson, Steve Febey, Brad Green, Rod Grinter, Greg Healy, Peter Keenan, John Lord, Graham Molloy, Ian Ridley, Billy Stretch, Jim Stynes, Jack Viney, Sammy Weideman, Brian Wilson, Adem Yze...

So, as I've said, everyone (except gold medallist Mazer) seems to be stumped! Mazer said it was hard, so sorry, everyone if it's too hard?! Are you thinking there might be a catch? Try thinking of the slips by them...

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
