CASEY: Rd 13 vs Werribee

Featured Replies

Very very hard to watch. Werribee can't buy a goal. About 5 missed chances at this end for the quarter. I have finally seen the score board sitting on the ground!

Baker's disposal has been rubbish all game.

good lead, mark and goal to weid

35 - 18 casey lead at half time

Half Time: Casey extended its lead to 17 points but this has been a horrible game of footy. The Demons have dominated inside 50s but their forwards have often been closed down by the Tigers defence.

Casey Demons 5.5.35 Werribee Tigers 2.6.18

Goals Weideman 2 Chandler Grey Munro

Disposals Melksham 15 Bowey 13 Baker Sparrow Weideman 10

Bowey is too good to be in the VFL. The kid has it all except for height. Will play 200 games.

Bite the bullet and train Bowey up as a winger

I can only think he is yet to build the tank to play wing at AFL level - that two way running that say Langdon does is not easy

Has speed - both running and with disposal. No doubt he is a good footballer just need to find the right spot / right time

Standard is ordinary but I am enjoy a real game for a change. Casey should be double their score. But Tigers are playing good defence.

Decent without being lighting. His strengths are elite kicking, decision making and composure.

As an established player, he’s most similar to Caleb Daniel and the clubs developing him in a similar half back rebounding role. At underage level he was a half forward/wing/midfielder. He’s definitely versatile and we’ll love his kicking skills in future if he’s paired up with Salem off halfback!

Mitch Robinson like squeal whenever he is in space and demanding the ball. Can see why they don't always honour it.

Love Bowey’s game and Declase and Turner look to be handy additions.

Weideman looks good at this level but there’s very little fire power or marking strength up forward or pressure to keep the ball inside 50.

They lost last week when the Giants played the same type of defensive game. They need to step up a gear - especially those striving to break into the Melbourne team.

He’s a cross between Salem and Hunt in terms of pace and skill. Great balance and makes good decisions. Only issue at AFL will be height. Half back is his spot IMO.

Rosman with an ice pack on the bench. Very high up, inner/rear thigh. Hamstring?

Ice on Rosman’s hammy.

Backline struggling one on one, midfield need to lift and put this one away

Werribee playing way better than us this quarter should be in front, poor kicking for goal is costing them.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
