Not only that. Spargo is a regular on the team sheet.

OD may have to jump ship if this keeps up for much longer.

Cartoon FC is probably in the market after last Sunday.

Unsurprising.  Tough times when there's nothing much to complain about.

I think you will find there are a lot of old guys like me who keep thinking we will wake up any minute and find we are 3 and 6. you can laugh and make jokes but it is real,  I have an old friend ( this is not me ) who throws up on the morning of every game and when he watches the game is terrified we will crack open. It is only after the game that he feels good about the win, enjoys the next 4-5 days then starts worrying about the coming game. Take it or leave it but after 57 years of mainly crap some people are struggling with our new found ability.

I'm 36 and i struggle to watch us live now that we are doing well because i expect perfection and hate errors (get angry etc.), yet when we were [censored] i would watch every second and had 0 temper. Doesn't make sense :(

I don’t think it’s uncommon.

We realise what an opportunity the club now has and that enhances our anxiety and trolling of our emotion.

I was better during the Carlton game as I knew we would respond and that the team’s effort is unquestionable right now.

It will get easier to watch this over time as they are the real deal - but yes @old dee the club has conditioned us to expect the rug to be pulled and so we are understandably jumpy.

I feel for your friend. I also feel sick every morning of game day. I can’t eat, I can’t concentrate on anything, I’m a bundle of nerves. It’s only once the siren’s gone and we’ve won that I feel human again.

On the flipside my 8 year old son thinks we'll never lose again!

I thought that at 8 too. I hope his experience over the ensuing years is better.

Goody had to say that. Imagine the stink if said otherwise. In the meantime Weid has to perform better than his first outing and kick goals when he has the opportunity.

And he is such a competitor.

I think back to his devestation in the rooms after I think the freo game last year.

And I loved his perplexed reaction to a free given against him on the weekend.

Hw also backs himself. Takes players on and takes risky options with his kicks.

In doing so, like Hunt, is both a defensive ans offensive threat.

And those two players playing their role has freed Salem to get further up the ground.

As a result Salem has become much more of an offensive threat. Almost all of his kicks now go forward. And most hit targets. Ane because he is kicking from higher up the ground those targets are often in dangerous areas.

It was interesting that. On on the couch  when asked what he would do to break the dees down, lyon said clamp down on Salem.

Agree with all the comments on Rivers. He really is an absolute pearl. Fancy drafting Jackson, Kozzy and Rivers all in the same year. The huge improvement in Neal Bullen  Spargo and Hunt has given us so much team depth. ANB in particular is so hard at it and knows where the goals are.

Yes it's like we have SIX new players inc. the 2019 Draftees Kossie  Riv and Dogga all having their own influence on team development and results plus the new improved ANB Spargy and Hunt back from the forward line.

In addition Lingers plus Tommo and the 2018 class of Jordan Sparrow Chandler and Petty have all made great strides in this last 12 months.

AND nearly every one else is performing like an A grader Maxy Clarry Trac Maysie Jake L Tmac Fritta Jack V Hibbo Salo.

The unknown potential of BBB and the Weid is so exciting the list is long and bats pretty deep.

Jonesy Nev Locky Mitch Brown Majak Joel Smith plus Vanders can hardly get a look in but are there to fall back on like Bedford Bowey Laurie and Rodman are the future learning as they play each Casey game.

No stone should be left  unturned in 2021 which should give us perhaps our best chance in 57 years to end the Cursed drought.

I personally  think the Bulldogs are our biggest threat but perhaps a wet day would be suitable for us to shine.

The Bullies have been beaten once this year so it shows they are not unbeatable. As Leigh Matthews said of Essendon in 2001, if it bleeds, we can kill it.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
