Depends how you look at at it, hardtack.  Given that it is apparent they won't be playing after August, I would hope that their season will be somewhat shorter than our own.

Not quite how I meant it (figuratively), but yes, I know what you mean.

Brilliant stoppage goal from Tom Green. Serious composure for a second year player.

How will the tribunal phrase Dangerfield's hit so he gets minimum/no weeks?

I find him insufferable but he would hate losing to the Crows.  In the play immediately before the hit, he was well chased down which got him angry and he then buried his frustrations in a deliberate bump as Adelaide ran the ball back.  There was malice.  He should get a week  but expect the marquee player free to play ticket will be handed at.  And Paddy can then tell us all about his happy place and how you can live a simple life on $750k a year.

The amount of times Darcy mentions Toby Green even when he has [censored] all to do with the play borders on fanboying.

Hoping for an old fashioned wet weather slog for the Saints today.

Interesting game coming up here between our next two opponents.

At half time, it would seem both those teams are actually hoping for a massive downpour to cover their inadequacy.

Most of the players seem less interested in that game than Pickett2Jackson is!

'Stalemate', says the commentator... or did he just say 'Stale, mate.'

We have to go into the next couple of rounds looking for kills.

If Danger got 3 be good result for us....I am not a Danger fan but I am no sure.....

Looks like he lined him up in slow motion but in normal speed he was charging at him to tackle. Kelly handballs then Danger can’t really avoid contact so he braces/bumps. Big hit. Poor Kelly.

His Vlastin GF hit looked bad in slow mo also but nothing happened there

Will be interesting

I don’t think intent is a factor when grading. The Adelaide player was out cold before he hit the ground. I think it will be graded severe so he’ll get 3 games.

Watching GWS v Saints. Leon Cameron is a genius. Takes a fair bit of skill to take a Maserati and convert it into a Lada. Even Neeld would have struggled with that.

Joe Daniher only fined for his elbow to the head like Richmond’s Astbury.

So you can throw the Elbow back now with intent and be free to play, although the head is sacrosanct

Hard to understand the MRO rules. Looking at the incident as a footy collision, shoulder on shoulder you would think no suspension.

but I believe you are suspended based on the outcome in the case of accidental head clash. Therefore he could get anything. I expect 3-4 weeks from the tribunal.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
