For the first time in 20 years....Farmer's on the board! (In Melbourne colours that is)

Edited by Demon Jack

Good to see little Wiz get a goal in the red and blue. Unlikely to get a spot this yr - just too undercooked. Probably sent back to WA with some clear instructions on what he has to work on ahead of next year’s draft.

Jake Bowey has had the ball on a string. Has barely wasted it and just uses it beautifully. Close to having 10 touches that quarter.

Bailey Laurie is extremely composed and classy. Came I to it that quarter and like Bowey used ot really well.

Petty would be BOG alongside Bowey.

Pretty poor quarter. Bowey is getting a lot of the ball. Neitschke must be injured didn't see him that quarter.

According to Richo we have 2 spots and 1 for the mid season draft. If I was a betting man I would say Farmer will get that rookie spot, Daw to take the SSP and Smith to unfortunately miss out.

I know it has been said before, but Rosman looks like he must have gone through puberty when he was 6.

Seriously mate, leave the kid alone, why don't you put a picture up of yourself so we can all make unnecessary comments about.

I bet your bald

Who is 44 - he is very good in the guts and looks very strong

Laurie and Bowey both look very good.

Rosman - looks laconic - not a good sign.  Not enough effort for me.

Clear gap between the twos and threes in this squad.

Farmer really needs to improve his disposal

From today’s game I don’t see how he gets a spot.

Haha I am not bald and there was no ill-intent in my comments, intended in affection only. Apologies if taken that way.

Seems everyone is in consensus...

Bowey and Laurie level above

Rosman has to work harder

Farmer has tricks - let’s see how they go in WAFL

Forward line is a struggle - don’t judge Brown or Bradkte on this

VFL players haven’t had a long preseason

Edit:

Petty been solid

Rioli want to join Melbourne?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
