Running alongside that draft on the Herald Sun’s subscriber pages is a feature covering Monday’s training session at TBBO for Victorian draft hopefuls run by the AFL Academy coach Tarkyn Lockyer where players also had their measurements taken for the first time since the pre-season. There were reports last week that Mac Andrew had bulked up considerably from 70kg to close to 80kg but the official figures show that he’s still only 74kg. He’s also added 1cm in height.

I’m not questioning what he said in an interview. These measurements were taken on Monday by AFL staff at the training session.

Where does it say that the Herald Sun obtain these measurements though? Measurements are recorded for the recruiters purpose and also just from a development point of view. They wouldn't just release it to the HS for 'Mock Draft' purposes or most media outlets. Even on Cal Twomey's recent Phantom mock Draft he's still listed at 70kg.

I think we will only draft 3 on the night because we will upgrade Jordon to the primary list which will leave us with 2 rookie selections. So i'd imagine we will be doing some pick swaps to get higher up with our selections or possibly swap them for 2nd/3rd round picks next year seeing as we don't have a 1st round pick.

As Whispering Jack said, they've had their measurements recently updated. The last time the draftees were measured was back in Jan/Feb. Take Finn Callaghan for example, his stats were 189cm and 82kgs... he's now 191cm and 86kgs.

A couple of posts below is a post by Chelly which quoted Pick 11 going to St Kilda. Chelly also noted the height and weight particulars that are the same as the figures from the training article and which WJ highlighted in the screen shot in his post (with red border added). He paraphrased from the article that the players at Monday’s training “also had their measurements taken for the first time since the pre season”.

I will try to access the article later on and provide screen shots attesting to this if you  still have any doubts. 😀

were 189cm and 82kgs... he's now 191cm and 86kgs. 

I know they've had their measurements taken. But you blokes seem to have missed the point I'm trying to make. Nothing has so far confirmed these are his actual official measurements from the testing on Monday. The article is Paywall so maybe it could say its the official measurements obtained from the day and if it does, my mistake. 

He's supposedly listed at 74kg after the measurements had taken place, yet MA himself has said he's at the 80kg mark in an interview only 2 weeks ago.

I mean i have legitimately quoted MA himself who has stated he's put on 10 kilos and is up around the 80kg mark? And I'm pretty sure someone who's close contact with him confirmed this on this board few weeks back?

Just find it really strange some aren't willing to believe the kid himself.

Yes either Draper or Sonsie as 1st round sliders would be very good additions for MFC. Versatile midfield or half forward types.

Phantom feasibility is given each have been injured in 2021 and had reduced testing exposure, it’s possible they drift down to possibly be available.

I like our 2nd pick as well with Angus Sheldrick. He's a Viney/Neale clone... already 88kgs at 179cms. Effectively our Jones replacement who is a similar height and weight. I found this espn article about him quite interesting. He fits Goody's player criteria being that he is a tough competitor and 2 way runner.

I'm a big fan of Sheldrick - he impressed me in all of the games he played in but particularly, in the last one against South Australia.
