Bedford gets dropped but not Baker or Pickett. Both their games were as bad as Isaac Weetra's debut!

No one can hit an I50 target to save themselves but Bennell remains out of the team.

Lockhart must have gone back to Tassy and got himself lost in the wilderness.

Hunt, apparently concussed last week, is named in the backline. Fat chance of that happening!

Bedford had 8 touches and 5 clangers. You’d keep him in?

bennell isn’t match fit.

All I've got to say is that I'm happy to see Nev back in the side!

Why ? It has gifting a game all over it

Lockhart should be in (the Last3 in fact need his pace and carry)

melksham should be dropped. For who? Hannan? Please

we are an average team. The changes made improve our team from last week

With no context both if these points are true. As an example melksham is one of our most talented players. So no player, with the exception of beneell, available to come in for home with as much talent.

But in context the coach says post game we need to be more ruthless. And continues to pick a senior player who doesn't tackle, does not show on field leadership (where was his inspirational  match turning effort last week?) and picks and chooses when he goes. What message does that send to his team mates?

I have little doubt Goody played him on fyfe to make him more accountable.

The changes improve our team? Sure. I agree.

But leaving aside jetta who comes in for an injured Hibbo, spargo and Brown were both available for the freo game.

So the logical extension is that it was an error to select pruess and Bedford for the freo game.

I genuinely believe this.

We have so many holes on our list right now. A big cull is coming our way at the end of the year.

Agree. Our top 7 stands up against all sides but against the top 5 our 8-18 don’t have the consistent quality needed. I think we struck gold last draft and I believe a further preseason there as well an available Jordon, Petty, Hore will improve our 8-18 quality. However for the past 3-4 years we have hung on to too many that should have been turned over sooner to uncover more. That combined with no top 20 talent  2016-2018 hurts,. Being we have no early pick this year it will be interesting to see how we navigate the trade and free agency period to close the gap.

My point is that Bedford, Baker and Pickett do not deserve a game this week.

If Bennell is not match fit why did we give him games early in the season when we had a full list?

Coz Goodwin doesn't play him where he should...... THE FORWARD LINE FFS

Seems quite simple to me picket I agree, we are crying out for forwards and he continues to play  a half decent one in the back line. It is almost as bewildering as why he keeps picking Spargo.

It has been mentioned else where that picket will not run at full pace while  you can understand his Fear it is vital that he does so. My understanding is that he has been play at full place or watch from the outer.

I was talking about the changes for this week, that was the context, not selections over the last few weeks.

Melksham is still our best link man between mid and fwd. even though he has been disappointing I don’t think we can afford to drop him right now

It shows how lost Goodwin is, by saying we need to build cohesion in our team with only two rounds to go.

Maybe he knows the results that the AFL want for the next two rounds, allowing Melbourne to sneak into the finals and he’s seeing a 3 week window??  :roos:

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
