I'm surprised at the love for Langdon.  His man got away from him in their 50 repeatedly and in return he missed his chances in attack for us.

He worked his a... off all night covering for his teammates who didn't show.

The 3rd Q it looked like the Swans v Langdon, the kid tried to get us back in the game but had to carry way too many.

He worked hard, he got lots of ball and lots of ground, but in terms of the scoreboard, his contribution is basically the winning margin for the Swans.  His man kicked two goals (from uncontested marks) and set up two others.  Langdon missed two set shots, one of which resulted in a goal to the swans, and had no assists.  He's not alone in that by any means.  Jones cost us two goals and plenty of other people missed easy shots, but I do factor it into my assessment of his game.

I’m still too angry to vote. Weakest bunch of ?

May I join you in your anger. I also feel too angry to vote! What a shame it’s come to this!

I should add I feel dirty giving Langdon and Gawn votes of the same value as given to May and Petracca last week.

I'm sure it's been discussed before, but maybe the Demonland POTY could adopt a different voting methodology next year? My suggestion would be to keep the concept of top 6 players, but instead of an automatic, unweighted 6/5/4/3/2/1, change to a score out of 10 for each of those players. For example, last week I might have given May 10 and Petracca 9 (and the other four players probably scores between 5 and 7). For last night's game, I would have given Langdon 6, Gawn 4, May 4, Neal-Bullen 3, Oliver 3, and Tomlinson 2.

And the coaches agree with Demonland.  Only Langdon and Gawn polled in the AFLCA votes.  3 to Ed and 1 to Max.  6 Swans players scored votes which is no surprise at all.

Christian Petracca has a good lead.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
