The 1994 Semi will be on Fox this weekend i believe. Such a great game to watch, Ox in full flight, Lyon 10 in 3/4s  Tingay and G Lovett playing at their best, Jeff Hilton and Glen Molloy in the side.

Enjoy it. will report back times if i can get them.

Didn't Glen Molloy play in the early 70s? Perhaps Glen Lovett?

It was Graham Molley that played in early 70s. Glen was the son of Graham.

Molloy paid 20 games for the Dees between 1993-1996, and kicked 4 goals.

Don't remember much about him other than he was small defender and I think he was a bit maligned with the fans.

1994 was another very very good team.
Viney Schwarz Pike Charles Lyon Neitz B.Lovett G.Lovett Tingay Wight Stynes Lovell Febeys

unfortunately Jakovich was injured mid year as he could have made a difference

very unfortunate to have to play Eagles in Perth in 1994 preliminary final. They would have won it imo

First half

Great viewing!

I was only 7 so don't really remember 1994. Just looked it up and see we lost to the Eagles in the prelim....

So both times we've lost to West Coast in prelim they've won the flag....

Gee I hope we can get them back sometime.

FYI I'm originally a Perth boy so it cuts even deeper.

They also knocked us out in the semis in 90 and 91 ?

7.30 Sunday night. Recording already set.

What talent we had in 94 & what could have been, the old injury curse in 95.

lyon, Schwartz, Neitz, Stynes, Lovell , Tingay jackovich, Charles, Pike , Prymke.

Thanks BBP. I don't remember him at all.

I was thinking of Graham Molloy, who was apparently his father.

Now, that Dad was a real champion for the Dees. Took anyone on, any time, with an attacking style to drive the ball as if we were 5 points down in the last quarter with only 30 seconds to go before the final siren. Graham had wonderful balance combined with a murderous intent with opponents - not Mr Niceguy, at all - just fair dinkum on the field. Great, mobile skills across many positions and as a utility across the ground.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
