Quite frankly, I’m happy for him to sell it.

We simply cannot have another season like this year’s.

Despite finishing 17th, we are (ironically) in the premiership window right now, and we have to go for it - full bore.

Great move - Josh Mahoney is a gun at trading picks IMO.

I love it.

He’s a Gun at throwing out valuable second rounders for nothing.

Just out of interest, what was the last positive thing you think Melbourne did?

We hung onto pick 3!! Before that many "Armagedon" moments were the order of the day IMV

Trade period isn’t over yet - I would be surprised if we had pick 3 come time of selection

Pick 3 to the Giants for Jeremy Finlayson and pick 6

Pick 8 to the Hawks for Issac Smith and pick 11

pick 6 we draft Lachie Ash and get some genuine speed

pick 11 we draft Cody Weightman, small forward with genuine skills and x-factor

overall a terrific trade period.

If GWS don’t come to the table, they effectively “lose” their high 1st round pick on Green (which they could use later picks on). Do a deal with us then they use pick 3 on the player they want and later picks on Green, effectively 2 top 5 picks for pick 3, later picks and whatever they pay us.

Lachie Ash is Jayden Hunt 2.0. Runs away and boots it to no one . Would be a shocking choice at 6.

I'm worried if we give up 3 we lose Caleb Serong, who will go 4 or 5. He's a very good footballer. I suppose at 6 we could get Sam Flanders as a similar type player, then Weightman at 8 which is a bit overs for him IMO.

Rubbish. he's a good kick, shown great leadership, reads the play well and is consistent in his position. you should probably know what you're talking about before you plot players because you clearly have not seen him play.

Have you seen his highlight reel? Almost all his kicks are OOTF/to an opposition player or smothered. Just ran and booted it Into no mans land like Jayden Hunt does.

Not a player I would want to spend a top 10 on.

It's because he tries to kick when running at full speed under pressure. a very easy thing to address and fix up. if that's the worst problem he has he's in a very good position.

Nice PO.  A slight variation?...

?? Pick 3 - same deal ??

?? Pick 8 - to Hawks for Smith, 11 & 42

?? 42 to Adelaide for Jenkins & peanuts ($300k to ensure the Cats have to at least pay a tad more if they want him...yeh what's up pussycat!).

?? Pick 6 - Stephens (speed, silk & finish!)

?? Pick 11 - Weightman (small forward with rising star potential).

?? 3rd draft pick (Rookie as delisted FA?) - Harley Bennell

At the end of the day, we are giving away pick 3, the third best young talent in the country.

That's a lot for mine, we better be asking for plenty back in return.

No complaints for me.

greatly increase our speed and class on the outside

address small forward need

re-enforce key targets forward

build on young core

add on field experience and leadership

all major areas of list concern addressed is a success in anyones books.

don't mind the idea of offering up the future second to the Crows for a last minute hail mary at Alex Keith potentially.

If the rumour of us knocking back the GWS offer of Pick 6 and a future first is true, then I'd say that's a fair indication of us playing hard ball for the pick.

Need to agree to disagree. Hunt has spent years and still does it.

i am in the Stephens camp for pick 6. Dead-set gun. His highlight reel is up there with Oliver’s.

Fortunately the guys who make these decisions don't do so based on highlight reels.

Stephens is a good player though

i'd also be happy with Flanders

Not sure if this has been floated, but what if GWS offered 6 + 40 (Tomlinson compensation) + 2020 1st for Selection 3?

I think it should be a player like most here, but if there is no possibility of getting a player what would it take?

I wouldn't do that. We probably don't even need pick 40 this year. GWS 2020 first selection is diluted so it won't help us much either. The value needs to be closer to what GWS will receive out of the deal from a net perspective. In effect if we help them out GWS are going to draft 2 top 5 rated players from this draft, they better be willing to offer up something better than that IMV.

I'm with Bonkers. That deal is pants and would rather go to the draft.

Unless we can realise a net gain equal to if not better than what GWS stand to reap they can G.A.G.F......

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
